I built myself a winch bumper. I wanted one that didn't block the intercooler and doesn't stick out too far. I have a 2 door base so not worried about cameras. I intended for it to be as light as possible. Not sure I accomplished that at 95lbs. I used 2x4 rectangular tubing, 3/8" plate, a Harbor Freight winch plate, and a Barnes Off-road bull bar. Painted with Rustoleum self etching primer, and "truck bed coating". Total materials cost was $350 not counting consumables (welding wire, gas,i Grinding disks, etc...). OK on to the pictures.

Forgot to mention, I wanted it to be bolt on, and it is. It uses the 6 bumper bolts, and picks up a bolt using existing holes in the frame rail about 5" back for a total of 8, 4 on each side.

Nice Love it. I build my own bumpers too. Buying stuff is never what I want it to be, Mine will be similar but I want to sink 4 vertical posts to it, at the ends and at the bends. The 2 in the middle I will connect(replacing the bull bar) and the ones on the ends will be freestanding but strong enough for throwing a rope over as long as the pull is downwards enough. Also makes wrapping a strap easy. Great job on yours. Any plans for lights on it?

Looks awesome! I’m doing something similar out of wood and PVC. Just kidding… I can can bolt things on, but I can’t build what I bolt on.

I will eventually add some lighting. No solid plans yet. I'm currently trying to decide if I want a 1" leveling kit to compensate for the weight of the bumper and winch. It sagged at least 1/2". I am also thinking about a "bash plate" under the bumper to replace the plastic air dam thing on there now.

Nice. I would wait on the level till you decide you love the front bumper so much you want a matching rear. But i am always against levelling kits. Unless you got a plow :ROFLMAO:. Dont forget you can make that bumper an air tank if you got a compressor on board.
