Thanks for this. I've seen people use felt, but I feel like this is a better option as it is easily removable. Do you know by chance what the diameter of that heat shrink was in the pack? Planning on trying it this weekend.

Mine does it way more as it gets colder, but I assume as the material on the pin wears away, it will be a constant thing.
I used 1/4" and 3/8" shrink tube.

Do you think this should possibly be done before the pops become more frequent? I feel like I might hear them some, but by no means are they repeating with the frequency to have me chase them down.

My dealership is going to hate me. Call me old fashioned but I won’t settle for having to fix the roof myself on my $60K+ new car…. 😉

He acts like he has to take a flame thrower to it to shrink it lol. I’d hit it with a lighter just to make sure it didn’t pull off. Good idea though. I’ll probably throw some on my pins just to prevent any noise.

Such things as this I expect on a first year new model of a unique, multi system car. Better this than a 4wd system! Gives me something to tinker with. Don't "old fashioned" people EXPECT to work on their cars?

By the way, no popping on my MIC top in coastal SC. Maybe cold is a big factor as some have suggested.

A $0.25 fix that Ford Engineers couldn't think of. The popping sound has to be one of the most annoying things I've ever had to deal with on a vehicle.

I bet the cold does. In MN it gets so cold most of the winter that everything shrinks. It can cause some rattles even in the most expensive cars.

Make that whinny 6G members about the noisey MIC. If you ever have to deal with it; you'd understand. It's non stop and just happens to be 8" from the drivers head.
