Just sharing my first-time carwash of my OBX-soft Top. Crazy how the 360º camera works... awesome!

Is it bad?
Yes, those type of washes totally destroy your paint. Even after one trip through that wash you're paints gonna be thrashed.

Improper wash methods are how you end up with swirls and brush style tunnel washes are some of the worst culprits. The damage caused by them adds up way faster than even a shitty hand wash.

Even worse, it will create instant terminal rust. Plus your soft top will leak like a sieve, forever. Finally, you‘ll have hemorrhoids and flat feet forever.

Hey its fine if you don't give a fuck about your paint, but not everyone is even aware of the damage being done so I like to make it known.

Thats completely ridiculous. I have a “membership” for my cars at the local car wash and go through it multiple times per week ( some times multiple per day if it rains ) in all of them. The paint on all my cars looks perfect, no scratches. In fact, they look as new.

On a side note, my softop doesn’t leak any water, even after going through the wash countless times.

I‘m mostly concerned about the hemorrhoids. Those hurt!

Lmao. If you're using a brush style wash that often your paint is NOT perfect. You may not see it, but anyone in to detailing will.

The auto washes aren’t going to completely destroy your car. Every other car I’ve owned was ran through auto washes exclusively and the paint turned out fine.

Better to use a touchless wash for soft top Broncos, but the occasional auto wash won’t kill it.

Don’t let these guys make you paranoid.
