Waffle House got me through college. We'd take our books (yes, we actually had books back then) and do all our homework/studying while eating the all you can eat. We would normally be there at least 3 hours and eat 2-3 full meals. Enough calories for 2 days.

Sometimes the Awful Waffle (as we call it) is exactly what you need or want. 2AM and want a burger, sure! 4 am and want some eggs and bacon? Got you covered. And smothered, chunked.

Our tradition is to go there on Christmas morning after the gift extravaganza is over, eat a meal, leave a really fat tip (like a couple hundred bucks) for the waitresses having to work on Christmas morning. Kind of a cool "giving" feeling, and shows the kids early on respect for people and an empathetic nature.

But yeah, Waffle House for the win. Just don't look around too hard for stuff you don't like sanitation-wise.

Very fun. I’ve only ever driven it in a loaner (Edge) when my truck was in for service last year, during the Super Cel up there. Maybe I was being a little more risky because it was a loaner, but it was very exhilarating. We did have to wait for about 30 minutes while they pulled a motorcycle up after it went off the side.

Even though I was Bronco-less I had a great time at Uwharrie today and met some great guys and fellow members. I only got to ride along for 1 trail due to a broken tie rod incident, but it was still a good day. I'd love to go back.

So yeah, pro tip: avoid Historic Charleston/French Quarter if you have a trailer. We wanted to check out the area and eat at A. W. Shucks but it was hell trying to find a spot to park.

Missouri wasn't much to talk about but we did find cheap and tasty food. In Illinois now, where gas prices are obscene.

And I got the call, the Bronco is fixed!

Florida drivers and Alabama in general tried to kill us. Just got checked into our room in NOLA at the Jung. It's really nice for the price.

The Jung is decent. Check out St Louis #2 nearby. Marie Laveau is buried there. You can break your Bronco curse at her crypt!

Also easy walking from your location....check out Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop for a drink. Cafe Du Monde of course. Gumbo yaya at Mr Bs near you also has the best gumbo in town. BBQ Shrimp there is also divine. D Day museum is worth a visit in the CBD.

Essencefest should be kicking off in a few days...so you are in the calm before the storm.
