What determined the Bead lock ring color on SAS Bronco's?

Anyone know about the different colors of Ford Bead lock rings and where or what model or package each color gets used. Talking specifically about the Bead lock rims on the SAS package Bronco's.

I have seen some with Black bead lock ring on a black wheel. I think this is a Wildtrack thing all black. I think ?
I have seen some with a bright machined ring on a black wheel.
I have seen some with carbonized grey ring on black wheel.

I am curious what options triggered which ring and can the rings be ordered separate, and if a I wanted to change the color of the ones that came on my Bronco.

I suppose I could take them off and have them powder coated whatever color I wanted.
I would assume they could be pulled off without causing any issues still driving it till they got color changed.
Possibly a balance issues at the most, I would think.

Everyone else got the silver.
Anything other than is a custom job by the owner.
The Badlands you posted is 100% a custom job to match his grill. I could be mistaken tho, it happens.

The only truck that had stock gray bead lock rings is the Badlands with optional wheels/33s. There were no sasquatch with gray rings from the factory.

no, the badlands have a badlands specific rim as an option, is a non sas wheel 33, and its comies with this color matching the grill. its OEM

Looks like the 33" is still the same Goodyear MT only in a 33 rather then the 35s on the SAS.
I hadn't noticed that before, but those are looking a bit smaller then the other random pics I posted.

I hadn't noticed that before, but those are looking a bit smaller then the other random pics I posted.

The optional Badlands wheel with the carbonized gray rings comes standard with 33" BFG KO2 All-Terrains. You can option on 33" Goodyear MT tires—same tire as the Sasquatch tire, just a smaller size.

That wheel is sold out for the year though, so if you want it you'll have to wait for 2024.

• Black - Wildtrak exclusive
• Carbonized Gray - Badlands optional.

In summary; Wildtrack and FE's come with Black beadlock beauty rings on black wheels. Every other model that is SAS equipped comes with Silver beadlock beauty rings. A Non-SAS Badlands could be ordered with the alternate beadlock capable wheel with Carbonized Grey beadlock beauty rings. The Badlands alternate wheel is a 17x8.0" with +55 offset. The SAS wheel is 17x8.5" with +30 offset.
The tires on the badlands alternate wheels in your second picture are the SAS 315/70R17" tires. You cannot order up a Badlands this way, so this was a customers doing.

No, it will not look right. The carbonized grey ring is different than the SAS rings. It might bolt on, but it has a different outward facing surface.

My beauty rings were removed and powder coated within a month. Didn't like the silver at all. I went with a textured material that matches the flares instead of all black. Turned out fantastic.

So no need to dismount the tire, just unbolt the rings and get them powered coated, correct?

I did have to dismount the tires on my TRX, but I was changing the wheels to matt black and the rings to dark grey, similar to what I want to do with the Bronco wheels, only not really needing to change the color of the rims just the rings.
