This is now the 5th time overall that I've had to deal with this. 2nd for the Bronco. Last time the whole dash was lit up. Found a few chewed wires under the air box and the driver side wheel well. I can't find the wires this time. I only have a 4x4 error and the GOAT dial is flashing. Everything else seems normal. Does anyone recognize these wire colors from working on anything? Found a 4" section chewed out. Was supposed to be taking the Bronco today on a wheeling trip but had to switch to my other vehicle. I've got a few hours into this already looking.

I feel for you. Those rat b@stards got my pickemup truck the other day  Can you see where the other end of the harness is? If so just matching the wires shouldn't be too bad.

Cats work quite well. Wife and I had a cat years ago that would bring the dead mice to the back door. Kinda like a trophy.

This works well also.......

Need to see the other wires. Where approximately did you find that section? Give me VIN and I can look at VHR if your modems activated.

I trapped an dispatched my third squirrel in as many days this AM and I keep a .17 handy. I also keep a mouse trap set under the hood of my motorhome.

And where did you find this harness?? Need something more to go off of.

Also... cat. You need a cat.

Not a harness, just a 4" section of loom chewed from both ends. Found on top of the intake plenum but I'm guessing it connects to the transfer case somewhere but can't find it. Neighbor said he uses a radio outside and it's stopped completely. I already have poison bait stations and the stuff that's supposed to repel them. We live in the woods and it's a battle. My soldering skills are kept up for sure.

Wire was laying loose on top along with a bunch of nesting junk. Ate some of the fiber from the firewall etc.

To be clear, this section is loose and not connected on either end.

And I would say the lighter colored wire is grey/orange.

Wait, is there a 4th cable?

The transfer case has a 8-pin loom going to it, and none of the colors match up. So it's definitely not that. But if there is actually four cables in that bundle that could help narrow it down.

Only 3 wires in there.

I am about 90% sure that is wire loom for the transfer case range sensor. Runs between the sensor itself and the AWD module.

Connector C3734

Sits on top of the transfer case itself. Maybe @flip or someone else with service manual access can pull up the location diagrams.

Moth balls seems to help keep rodents away. Get a dish and put it under your vehicle assuming you park in an area that doesn't get direct rain. Last resort is get some of the Honda rodent tape and wrap the areas they've been working.
