Ford Bronco Undercoating "How To" for Offroaders (Video) DSCF1924-Edit

If you want to keep your Bronco for a long long time, make sure you undercoat it! Here's how I do mine every year, with a few extra steps for "offroaders/overlanders". Let me know if you have any different tips!

Good video. Glad the “it’s fine” comment made it in there 😆

I look under my 23K mile Bronco and it looks like it has 150K miles…the surface rust is unreal.

Spray some undercoat on that! Glad you enjoyed!

Fluid film is probably my go to for the drive shaft. Its the rustiest thing under my car. Drive shafts are balanced at the factory and Jeepers swear by fluid film because the excess is just thrown off. I'm not sure if more sticky antirust chemicals can add enough weight to throw it off balance or not but I dont want to find out. So i don't mind using something thats a little less sticky. <--not a pro, just what i read bc i was looking into rust proofing my Bronco too.

I'm planning to do Woolwax underneath and cavity wax this fall. It'll be messy to work on it later, but not having rust later is worth it! I was really tempted to do something longer lasting but I like the idea of being able to see what's going on under non-tinted Woolwax and wash it all off later if there's a longer-lasting product I really want to apply down the road.

It's not environmentally friendly but 40 years ago I used to take my old oil after an oil change, put it in a paint cup and spray it underneath my my 69 Ford 1 ton and my 74. Highboy
New to this sort of thing, does used oil work for preventing rust?

And isn’t it recycled, that’s environmentally friendly! 🤣

There's a guy on YouTube who does a lot of videos on undercoatings and he tested this. Used oil worked better than nothing but fluid film was noticeably better.

I like project Farms videos on which products work well. But like I say, anything is better than nothing. Just do it or get it done.

Discovered that Fluid Film and Woolwax are manufactured from same company. After countless hours of research, it seems Woolwax provides better protection against the NE winter and against the salt used on the roads. I just spent last weekend doing 3 vehicles, including my MY23 Bronco.
Plan to repeat every year now that I know how.
I was considering going to a professional undercoater. But for $500 a car…
Spent $150 for gun, wands, and Woolwax. I already own a power washer & air compressor. Took a full day but worth it!

Probably avoid rubberized undercoating and stick to oil based. I don't live in the rust belt. I don't plan to undercoat and haven't done any research on it, but here is a YouTube video I came across that may be helpful for people looking at different products:
