Hey man. I am getting both the PS5 and Series X. Think I can help you out here.

Get the Xbox Series X. Reason being... you will future proof yourself. The S is a slight upgrade over the current Xbox One X. It's all digital and it can run 1440p. The X can run true 4k. With the standard in the industry switching to 4k... if you have a TV you purchased within the last year or two or will be getting a TV in the future it is more so than likely to be 4k.

In regards to securing one of these systems including the PS5, I would recommend using the site Nowinstock.com

Thanks for the response. I'll check that site out and hope I can snag one of each before Christmas.. I don't shop ebay for stuff like that, if I'm not paying what the stores sell it for, I'm not buying it. I usually have pretty good luck finding them though, and this helps.

New system roll outs are generally in short supply their first holiday season. Add COVID into this and securing one might be harder than you anticipate.

So far I haven't caught a break on the xBox, but I did just install octoshop in Chrome. Hopefully that alerts me to anything in stock and I can snag one before the ebay dickheads snag them all up!

Do you have a Costco membership? They tend to hold onto stock slightly longer. Also, if you have twitter, follower Wario64 and have notifications turned on for his tweets. He let's people know as soon as things drop. It's crazy out there.

I should also add, if you're relying on an app to tell you when things are in stock then you're already too late. You need to know before hand and have your payment information and shipping address saved.
