I don’t understand the fascination with any of those burger joints, I think they all are average at best.

To be fair, Whataburger isn’t even the best Texas-born fast food burger chain. That distinction goes to a smaller (and still locally owned ) chain called P. Terry’s.

And yes to your point if I want a good, quality burger I’m not going to any of these places

P Terry’s is waaay better than in-n-out, but both are smaller burgers (and that’s okay). But if you’re really hungry for a sold 1/2lb burger, Whataburger can’t be beat (as far as fast food burgers go).

Just to clear something up, that guy is not a Texan nor lives in Texas, he just wishes he was. He thinks because he likes universally awesome things like trucks, Dublin Dr Pepper, and brisket than makes him an “Honorary Texan”. Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump those numbers up if you want to be a true honorary Texan. (If you can’t tell I’m an obnoxious Texas guy, I claim it lol.)

Classic tryhard? Yeah that is obnoxious to see, but that is still better then someone moving in from out of state and insisting literally everything needs to change to match the culture they were desperate to leave. Maybe he will chill out a bit eventually.

Definitely not how I would rank burger chains, but I can understand the appeal of most of those. Never had a good experience with culvers or whataburger though.

it’s true lol.. I believe in Denver that distinction goes to the cherry cricket. I had smash burger once, I thought it sucked and was absurdly greasy.

I’d like to get some real reviews from actual owners, but I gotta tell ya, I’m not entirely sure I can trust the Ford fanboys in here anymore than I can a Texas Instagrammer who likes mediocre burgers.

The first time I introduced a friend to White Castle I told them that the key is to stop eating the *moment* your body tells you. I don’t care if you have a single small bite of the very last slider left… you put it down and you stop.

One thing Texas and California actually have in common is terrible burger chains.

In and out is one of the worst burgers I’ve ever paid money for and their fries are literally cooked wrong. You do not cook a fresh potato once and call it a French fry. You have to fry them twice or they are soggy and oily like in and out.

Whataburger is barely a step above Burger King and that’s about it. Just generic garbage fast food. Not sure how they even got a following honestly.

On that list five guys is the best but not saying much there.

Culver's is outgunned by every other chain on that list. It's a step above McDonald's, but expensive for what you get. I originally thought maybe it was a string of bad experiences, and then we got one here in town. Thanks for playing, but no.
