Bronco Specialists & Dealer Principals,

We know customers are excited to get their new Bronco and we are committed to delivering a high-quality product as soon as we can. We are announcing soon a timing change driven by COVID 19 challenges that some of our suppliers are experiencing. The timing changes are listed below.

  • Order bank open will move from December to mid-January
  • Order conversion window will shift to mid-January through March
  • Initial 21MY dealer allocation forecasts will now be provided in early January (ahead of the order bank open).
  • Manual transmission with Sasquatch package is now planned to be introduced late next year as a 22MY option
  • Customer deliveries will begin in Summer 2021

In addition to these timing changes the team continues to actively listen to customer requests and as a result we will offer a new black interior to First Edition customers (more details to follow).

To thank our Bronco reservation holders for their patience we have created a customer appreciation program which will provide FordPass Rewards points for use towards the purchase of Bronco accessories.

A customer communication with these timing changes and details about the FordPass Rewards offer will be forthcoming, however we wanted to ensure you were aware of these changes first.

If you have any questions, please email @Ford.com or contact your Ford Regional Management Team.

Sincerely,

The Ford Bronco Team

FAQs

Is the 2021 Bronco two-and four-door launch delayed into Summer? What happened to “Spring 2021”?
Yes, given the COVID-19 pandemic, customer deliveries of the new Bronco will now begin next summer.

I thought the order bank was opening in December. Now I understand it’s mid-January, meaning customer orders will be even later. Why the delay? And will it delay vehicle deliveries?
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, Bronco ordering will now start in mid-January, with customer deliveries now starting next summer.

I understand from supplier communications with Ford that the Bronco two-door and four-door models are delayed 6 more weeks. Can you confirm if it’s a development or supplier issue?
This is tied to a supplier issue. COVID has had a significant effect on a number of Bronco suppliers, which we are not naming.

What can customers who have placed a reservation expect next? And what does the Bronco overall timeline look like?
  1. Customer placed reservation (since July 13)
  2. Customer uses Ford.com Build & Price tool to spec their dream Bronco (since October 23)
  3. Customer finalizes dealer selection by March 19, 2021
  4. Customer places order and agree to selling price with dealer between mid-January through March 19, 2021. Note: Bronco will not have online order conversions and will require dealers to place order
  5. Ford receives all orders nationally and begins to forecast a production schedule against key product content and features (commodities) – Q2 2021
  6. Customer receives dealer delivery window in May 2021
  7. First customer deliveries now begin in Summer 2021

Will orders be built in the order that reservations were received? Reservations will be fulfilled in approximately the same order received, based on final ordering and production of similarly configured Broncos. Due to the high number of Bronco two-door and four-door reservations, deliveries will extend into the 2022 calendar year.

What happens if customer order are not built in 21MY? Due to the high number of Bronco 2- and 4-door reservations, deliveries may extend into the 2022 calendar year. We anticipate some customers will receive a 22MY Bronco. In this scenario, customers will work with their dealer to replace their 21MY order but will have access to any product improvements for 22MY. Their reservation timestamp will remain with their order.

Is anything being done to research and implement an increase in production? Due to exceedingly high demand, we will consistently explore and review production options.

Has the delay to Summer 2021 enabled the late-availability Sasquatch package and manual transmission configuration to catch up? Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the entire Bronco production launch schedule shifted, now pushing the manual transmission Bronco models with available Sasquatch package into 2022 model year.

Is Navy Pier interior option still available for Bronco 2- and 4-door First Edition? Yes. The all black interior is an incremental option. Navy Pier is still available.
So does this mean the MY21/22 cut off of Sep 18 changes as well?

My reservation was like 2 days after launch. Honestly if summer is the earliest possible delivery date I wouldnt mind having mine pushed into 22MY. The first year will absolutely have some issues. Hopefully that gives them a little time to address anything that comes up and I can take advantage of whatever else they add.

A 21MY Bronco is going to be a rare vehicle.
Guess my dreams of mansquatch are squashed. Back to the manual BD, which ain’t bad.

I'm not entirely sure at this point why they don't just eliminate the idea of MY21 and just start with them being early MY22s. I guess the few MY21s they do get out may hold some cool factor due to being an very short run.

Oh well, I may take the extra few weeks/months and go ahead and splurge for the Lux package. Mine will almost surely be a '22 so may get the body colored hardtop too. If they can get that plant up to speed with the extra timing now. If they add a green into the mix this may all shake out for the best for me.

I don’t think we are seeing the last of the delays. I don’t expect the supplier issues to be resolved in a few months. Covid will increase through the winter. I’ve read that the vaccine doesn’t stop the spread of Covid - only the severity of illness. So more workers will be getting Covid and related delays will increase until such time that the number of infections decreases.
