I’d rather have an unpleasant truth over a comforting lie.

I’m not sure what people expected. As forum members with so many inside connections and rumors.... I’m not sure why people expected some sort of ground breaking statement. This is clarification of “we don’t know” which I’d personally prefer over the current statements. If you want your bronco faster switch to a soft top, if that’s a dealbreaker you can either wait or cancel your order. It’s really that simple.

This is true, and I'm in the same boat. In fairness tho, stringing every customer along for months while the rumor mill on the internet went nuts didn't help their case.

Roughly the same thing I told my dealer when i placed the order:
"I can handle good news, and I can handle bad news, but if you give me no news and bullshit me, that's when I'll get pissed"

My dealer said I can order the 2 door, 2.7, tow package without a top at all, and get delivery in late August

Wow! If I didn’t receive a build date already, I’d be furious.

The only positive in this, is that Ford is finally being honest and transparent. They’ve made far too many promises that they couldn’t keep, and weren’t the most communicative during this process. Hopefully they’ve learned from their mistakes, and will be way more transparent from here on out.

One of our friends of the forum dealers provided us with some insight.

• Will you need to cut production this year because of the roof issue? We are working as fast as we can to try and get through the roof and commodity Bronco bottleneck. Our goal is to build every customer order as quickly as possible.

The email is not bad and gives confirmation to a lot of assumptions/guesses around here while putting others to bed.

Seems reasonable to me given the situation and what's possible with individual customer communications.

Would have liked a little more info if there was any disparity between 2/4 door roof production/availability, but without that minutia we'll have to assume their build rates mimic whatever ratio Ford build into the parts supplier contract.
