Dealer charges $2799.00 for painting the top
I think that is incorrect, unless you are speaking of a different dealer.

It's $1995. He's posted it many times.I think that is incorrect, unless you are speaking of a different dealer.
Ask for Justin Fuller (Bronco Manager) and we will get you on the schedule. That's my dealer, I'll certainly be calling down there tomorrow morning to schedule some time with that beauty
When I first talked with @Tommy@DaveSinclairFord on the phone he said it was $2799. Glad I didn’t jump on it.I think that is incorrect, unless you are speaking of a different dealer.

Did it come out smooth? I assumed it would be rough like the MIC top I've seen in pictures.Updated by @RTLGarage
Shawn C: “Just went on a test drive with Tom Detwiler, pics do not do this thing justice at all. This thing is an absolute beast! Parked next to the 4Runner, 4Runner has 6” lift and 35” tires. Makes me even more impatient for my FE to get here.”
“ Top was painted by the dealer, Dave Sinclair Ford, they are putting a package together for customers to purchase this as an option with them.”
We're at 8 months later now. Would be nice to get an update. Not sure of the longevity of the paint job but it looks pretty today.
There's no black magic. It's literally correct surface prep, primer (possibly adhesion promoter depending) and base coat / clear coat. Any competent body / paint shop should be able to do it.Same. And some details how to do it, as obviously I will not drive so far there.
And it's a no-go. He was afraid after looking on the MIC that the chemicals in the paints he is using for the boat gelcoat would attack the surface and suggested rather a body shop.Talking to a boat repair shop as they do fiberglass hulks repair and gelcoat painting. His fiberglass man wants to see it.
