Made it to Owensboro KY on our way to the Mammoth Caves.

At Dee's Diner now and the food is so cheap compared to home.

So in Nebraska the Omaha zoo, Carhenge, and Runza are worth hitting.

The highlight of Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana was a single Bronco, a base 2dr. We used the portable AC in Terre Haute, very hot and humid there late into the night. It helped a bunch. Saw fireflies for the first time since I was a kid.

The Mammoth Caves in Kentucky were great.

I don't know, waffle House just isn't the same since they removed the cigarette vending machines and banned smoking.

You will not go hungry in the south. There is a Waffle House at nearly every exit throughout the southern interstate system. And they do not close, open 24 hours, 365. My local WH just got a lockable door after they remodeled the entire restaurant a few years back.

Waffle House got me through college. We'd take our books (yes, we actually had books back then) and do all our homework/studying while eating the all you can eat. We would normally be there at least 3 hours and eat 2-3 full meals. Enough calories for 2 days.
