Interesting...glad I got soft top.
Given how frequently I take the Braptor's top off, here are times I wish I did have a soft top to be honest. I've got removal and installation down to about 20 minutes or less these days but not as easy as say a Bestop e-top.

Might consider one of those if my top fails out of warranty although I'm not a fan of how bulky it looks when down and I'd have to get a completely new roof rack system. Always tradeoffs. Thanks Ford!

I don't know what ya'll are complaining about. 4 doors have plenty of aftermarket hardtop options. Turn, armadillo, Anderson, Rallytops, ADV(gone), Smittybilt Safari Hard Top that i know of. A lot for around 4k

I could be wrong here, but I think they are upset that a major automotive manufacturer cannot produce a quality hardtop for the vehicles that they sell. Just a guess.

I have yet to find one that has a middle section like Ford's though. Armadillo isn't an option for me because the whole top doesn't come off. Do any of those you listed function exactly like ford's?

I just ordered Jtops bimini mesh top and have a couple mesh panels for rear diagonal roll bar because in the S550 Mustang with wind blocker could drive in rain >45 and not a drop inside.

Ford should have just had a power retracting 5 layer fabric pano roof as an option or default.

I for one would not spend 4-8K on aftermarket and dont care how bulky it looks with softop down since I dont see it inside:) etop would be my goto though.

I think Fords top is just to get you off the lot and past warranty period, otherwise the bronco would have been more expensive than it already is. Not saying it's right, but people keep buying Broncos so why would it change?

I don't know. I have a 2 door , and I think there's only 1 aftermarket option. 4 doors are spoiled

Here's a picture of the top on my 2-door before I replaced it with a painted one.

Do you have any photos of the new painted top installed? I have a 2024 2-door non-SAS Badlands and so far the top has held up without some of the issues that I am seeing on this forum. However I really like the painted top and how it looks and it appears to have solved the problems that some of the MIC tops have encountered.

@Ducati1098, is the painted top option available for the 2 door Broncos and would you happen to have a part number?

Thanks.

Here you go. Also- I bought this top used, not from a dealer.

Wow that top is beautiful. I sure wish that a painted shadow black factory hardtop was available for my 2-door Bronco. My current MIC top still looks great, but at some point that may not be the case.

I read people talking about rigidity of frame, temperature, and sunlight being a factor. I have a 2DR 2021 First Edition that has 1300 miles on it and stored in a climate controlled building. I have replaced the MIC top three times. Twice under warranty and one time I paid out of pocket. I think the tops are just poorly made. If it happens again I’ll just live with it.

Hi All,

Since purchasing my 4dr badlands SAS in 2021, I’ve had my MIC too completely replaced 2 times, along with a few other replacements of the front 3 panels due to the typical issues seen on this forum - cracking, honeycomb, warping, fading. I live in California where there isn’t significant temperature change that could cause the material to expand and contract. This is purely a manufacturer problem.

Thankfully, each replacement has been covered under warranty. However, my factory warranty coverage has concluded, and of course im now dealing with honeycomb all over, and cracking on the middle panel.

I’ve contacted my local dealer about this who in the past has covered the issues without any pushback. Being out of warranty is another story. Originally, I was told that I’d need to pay around $2,000 per panel. After some discussing with my service advisor, he quoted me $700 just for the middle panel, which actually isn’t a bad deal in my eyes. I did inquire about purchasing a MOD top, to which they said Ford will not sell separate from the vehicle itself.

While I’m thankful my local dealer is willing to help me out, I just don’t think it makes sense to purchase something I know will need to be replaced in the near future when the same issues arise. However, if that’s my best option then so be it.

I really love this vehicle and the way it drives, but am feeling like this roof issue is an endless loop. I’m open to considering other vehicles and walking away from my bronco just to avoid the consistent roof problems.

With that in mind, has anyone else been in this position? If so, how did you address it? Im not really a fan of any of the aftermarket options out there.
1. Paint it.
2. Wrap it.
3. Install the Besttop Skyrider, which only uses the rear cap (what I did, see photo). Assuming your rear cap is in decent shape.
4. Install the Besttop full electric convertable top ($6,000).
5. Buy an aftermarket hard top with less panels ($6,000+)
6. Ignore the cosmetic blemishes..

For those of you that have had the dealer replace your hard top (rear section) how long did it take the dealer to replace it? My dealer is stating 2 days...

BestTop Etop. I have one and I will be honest, it is a game changer. All the advantages of the soft top, plus it is way more quiet than the OEM top, its insulated and I dont notice the little drafts anymore. Granted I cant have a roof rack and I cant run it thru the car wash, but that for me is not a thing. Honestly search the site. How may people bitch about the soft top compared to the MIC? The OEM MIC has been a problem since day one for a lot of folks.
Just my thoughts and opinions.
