Rear ended on the highway - damage doesn't seem too bad so far. Are there any specific mechanical issues I should look out for?

Taking it to the body shop tomorrow. I don't know what they may look at mechanically, but I'm doubtful it's much. It's drivable without anything noticeably wrong. I want to say there is a very slight vibration from the rear at highway speeds, but it's subtle enough that I could be convinced I'm making that up. I'll mention it but I'm unable to be more specific than that.

Traffic was heavy but moving at around 65mph, Traffic ahead slowed and was backed up, I slowed to almost a stop to match the traffic, and the car behind me did not. Chain reaction from there, 3 vehicles needed to be towed. My Bronco at the front doesn't seem too bad. I'll need a new bumper, new tailgate, I'll have them replace the spare tire as well. The interior plastic floor panels inside are lifted, The frame where the hitch is mounted looks to be a little bent as well. I'm just wondering if an impact like that could affect the brakes, transmission, or anything else that may not be obvious.

Does anyone have any knowledge or insight? Overall, I'm glad I was in my Bronco for this. a sma

Check tire for sidewall damage, body structure is deformed as may be fram rails a bit doesn't look like much but it's gonna cost!

I'm sure your neck and back are seriously injured so a new Raptor is viable in some time after settled.

It's now been in a wreck. Don't forget to check into a diminished value claim in your state if your state has them. The insurance company for the at fault party will "forget" that part.

Electrical. In todays world, make sure all sensors and wiring is checked. plus make sure whomever is paying, fully understands that electrical gremlins can be created by an improperly repaired vehicle.

One of my kids co-workers was in a similar type of crash ( not a bronco though) - electrical repair was 3x the mechanical repair.

LET THE MODS BEGIN!!!!!! Now you have a great reason to mod it into a real tailgate and get a new bumper!! of course you will need all new tires to go with the new look!!

If you back into a tree on a trail

"Aww, pretty sure that'll buff out after you beat the dent out with a hammer. Time for a new chase lights anyway"

Someone taps you on the freeway:

Lifelong chiropractor invoices, diminished value claim, the frame always tweaks, and electrical gremlins for life.

If the interior panels are out of place along with the hitch being bent there is likely frame and/or body damage making the repair (if not totaled) pretty serious…good luck!
