I like the nav mode of my display and use it a lot but sometimes the "Weather" display function works and sometimes it does not. I have checked and my phone is hooked up via Blue tooth but that doesn't seem to make a difference. I do like the weather display here in the Summer especially because of all the T-Storms.
What am I doing wrong?

That data is pulled over the cars cellular connection via one of Fords "Connectivity" packages. I believe the cell service is though ATT and only at LTE (4G) speeds, so if you have no bars for that service, no data. Also if your Ford Connectivity package free trial period (3 yrs from purchase) has expired the service will no longer work.

Mine just ended in May so I no longer see it either.

@mhtucker78 has the answer, but one of my past F150s had it through SiriusXM. It was helpful when traveling across the country, but if you were only commuting then it was less helpful than my phone or the news.

Do you also have ATT for your phone? Not trying to be an ass, but the car cellular modem is different from your phone. It's using the car's modem, not your phone. But also it's kind of a janky system to begin with both the OS and the data source for the weather telemetry not the best for user experience. When mine was active, maps would load slow and the "radar" data was slow to reload if I zoomed or moved the map around. I also wonder that these car data plans are treated like Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), with bottom of the barrel data priority, (think Visible, Mint, Cricket).

I have Verizon for my phone. I wonder if Bronco Fun and Sync are competing with each other. Could that be a problem?

Mine came with glass weather displays surrounding the vehicle.
Like the swallows returning to Capistrano, one can count on a classic reply. The majority of time I actually do chuckle audibly.

Since we'll never get the answer, I'll share a story. My buddy and I were staying in a cabin at a state park in WV with no cell service. One morning I told him that I was going to check the weather before we headed out. He said, "How are you going to do that"? To which I said, "I'm going to go outside". He got a pretty sheepish look on his face after that and he's in his late 60's!

Well, when you live in "Tornado Alley" it's sometimes nice to be able to see what's coming or what you're driving into.

True just because you have 5 bars on one network does not mean you will have 5 bars on another. Also you can have a strong signal on a 5g network does not mean you will have it on 4g. Consider weather display a 1st world problem. Just disconnect the telematics altogether. One does not need a nanny tattletail looking over their shoulder while driving.

Agreed, "Consider weather display a 1st world problem"... But if I'm paying for it I'd like it to work. However he stated he is using this for Tornado SA...honestly this is the last system I would use for such critical weather reporting information. Your phone and just plain terrestrial radio (NOAA weather alerts) are much more timey.

Let me tell you, I’ve been trying to track this same issue down for over a year. I have the exact same issue with the weather working or not working. This same issue applies to SiriusXM internet channels as well. So they both work or don’t work at the same time. I’ve gone round and round with Fords “help desk”. The dealer has looked at it many times. The conclusion I came to is, Ford doesn’t care enough to look into it and the dealership doesn’t know what to do because it isn’t an obvious diagnostics code that comes up. I pay for both the connected Nav and premium connectivity, so the issue isn’t with those either. If someone every figured it out, I’m dying to know what the cause was!!

Fixing Weather Data Issues in Ford SYNC 4
If your Ford SYNC 4 shows “No weather data available” or similar messages, it’s often due to connectivity, subscription, or software configuration issues.
1. Check subscription and modem status
  • Log in to your Ford Account at ford.com and go to Connected Services under Quick Links.
  • Ensure Connected Built-in Navigation is active. If it says “Expired,” renew it Ford.
  • Confirm your vehicle’s modem is activated and connectivity features (Connected Navigation, Location Services, Vehicle Data, Vehicle Connectivity) are toggled to On in Settings > Connectivity > Connectivity Vehicle Features Ford.
2. Enable and verify FordPass mobile app permissions
  • In the FordPass app, go to Account > Manage Connected Services and ensure navigation and weather services are active F150gen14.
  • Make sure you’ve granted all required permissions for navigation and weather apps (e.g., AccuWeather, INRIX) Ford F150 Forum.
3. Reset and refresh the SYNC system
  • Turn the vehicle on and in Park, in a well-ventilated area.
  • Perform a SYNC module reset (key cycle) to refresh the system Ford.
  • If issues persist, try a full reset of Connected Services from the FordPass app or SYNC menu.
4. Check region and software compatibility
  • Some owners report that a wrong region code (e.g., Canada) in the SYNC software can block weather/traffic data Ford F150 Forum.
  • If you suspect this, a dealer or technician can check and correct the region settings.
5. Address known software bugs
  • Certain trucks built between late April and early May 2021 had modem/data connection issues causing no weather/traffic data Ford F150 Forum.
  • If your build date falls in that window, a dealer update may be needed.
6. Test with other apps
  • Try using weather apps like AccuWeather or INRIX in SYNC to see if they work. If they do, the issue is likely with the navigation service rather than the app itself Ford.
7. Contact Ford support
  • If all else fails, contact the Ford Customer Relationship Center at 1‑800‑392‑3673 or use Live Chat Ford.
  • Provide your VIN and case number for faster troubleshooting.
Tip: If you’ve recently changed SYNC software or used diagnostic tools like ForScan, revert to the original build settings to avoid region mismatches Ford F150 Forum.
By following these steps, most SYNC 4 weather data issues can be resolved. If the problem persists after a dealer update, it may be a hardware or modem fault requiring replacement.
