I've been on a deep dive the past couple of days. I've read up on the Procal, then the Pulsar... then stacking the both... then I see posts of other various tunes people have run.

I guess I have the time old question of... what will give me the most, while worrying the least? I'm just wanting some more power - while I get the speed limiter removed. Had some issues on the interstate this past weekend and 100 just doesn't cut it sometimes.

Just looking for some feedback. We're passing the 36k in the coming month or so... so I want to start giving it a few power adders.

Also, what other performance mods do you recommend? I have a S&B intake ordered (for 3 months) - but other than that she's pretty bare bones. Performance and audio are going to be my first big steps.

If you want power, the best way is a custom tune. None of the piggyback tunes or even the FP tune will come close to a custom tune.

Mine has been tuned by @ZFGracing for years now. Makes a ton of power, never had a single issue and runs flawlessly. They have a lot of different options for basically what ever you would like to do.

If you go that route, I would also look into getting an upgraded intercooler to help keep the charge temperatures down when you're getting on it.

I also have a 2.7L WT with ZFG E85 tune.

Yeah, like The Duke said, forget those other peasentry tokens and go with ZFG. Its literally mind blowing how much power is left on the table, for stock.

@ZFGracing and it ain't even close.

Add an intercooler to your mod list.

I'm afraid of the quality of research done if it led you to wanting to stack a procal and a pulsar.

No No I didn't say I wanted to. I actually DID NOT want to, that's why I asked :ROFLMAO:. But the threads that pop up in this forum with just a few keywords will send you down some wild rabbit holes. I at least attempt to look up older threads before I make a new post.

I have a jb4 , plug and play. Very simple and easy. I'm sure you'd pickup more horse from a custom tune as stated above. But I do love the flexibility of using my phone to change the tune on the fly. Most of the summer I run a 93/e85 blend that allows for 5-6 extra psi.
No upgraded intercooler for me yet. Just a Roush exhaust and k&n filter.

With the expertise of @Ducati1098 I am going down this path.

Things done, Mishimoto intercooler, MBRP Exhaust.

Things waiting to install Injen Cold air intake Evo9302

Things going on order Zfg racing 91+ or 93 octane performance tune.

E85 not readily available in my area

I'm still deep in my warranty period, so custom tuning is out of the question for me until the warranty ends. Since you're warranty is ending I would say go the custom tune route. For those that are still within warranty the FPP tune is really only worth it because it updates the transmission shifting strategy. But I did start with the FPP and about a month ago I added a JB4 on top of it. I do run an e-40 to e-50 mix on Maps 4 and 5 and have no other mods yet, but intercooler will be next.
Like I said I've been running this for about a month and did a bunch of logging every time I changed maps. The good news is that a lot of Ford's safeties are still in play with the piggyback route and the JB4 has some nice adjustable limits.

How many pounds are you adding ?
I'm mostly blending around e25-30 running map 4 often. Are you playing with the customizable map ? Sounds sweet.

I was looking at CVFAB's high mount - did you go high mount or standard on Mishimoto? I see Mishimoto offers a kit with charge pipes, intercooler, and all kinds of new brackets.

JB4 adds a ton of power, is easy to install/remove and adjust at home, and it even works with the ford performance mapping or custom flash tunes, should you decide you want even more power down the road!

I did the factory location, I wanted to keep my Active shutters, and got a good deal buying @Ducati1098 old factory locations Mishimoto intercooler

I have been told unless your going bigger turbos changing charge pipes is not nessassary.

@Ducati1098 has the high mount CV Fab intercooler.

Whipple Stage 1:
50 state legal most important for me.
Got an unheard-of deal on it that I couldn't pass.
Gobs of torque & great shift mapping.
Well known performance company.
