You should try dropping the 6.8L v8 in your bronco! Would be pretty sick to see all the gas v8s ford makes all were put in a bronco as we wait for ford to actually drop a v8 in the bronco…

It’s been 2 hours and nobody has suggested a coyote swap yet.
Lmao there was plenty of that on reddit on the OG post.

Then people claiming a coyote swap should cost 9.5k somehow. Reddit is interesting sometimes.

Have you been using standard oil, synthetic blend or full synthetic? Obviously lots of highway miles with that mileage - steady temps allows for excellent wear. What are your oil change intervals?

I have 144,000 miles on mine. How about a Godzilla engine swap from RC3 Technologies? I know coyote swap is popular….new ones have oil pump belt too. Godzilla is chain driven.

I warned people in the comments of a lot of posts about this and you guys said I’m dumb and the belts won’t fail. This one has been soaking for a max of 5 years.

Due to labor costs for all of the "do it while you are..." repairs, I like the idea of swapping in a low-mileage engine from a totaled Bronco where the engine was not damaged. It might take a bit to source, but would probably be a good 200k ownership plan.
Just doing some basic internet sleuthing and rebuilt/remanned 2.3's were in the $3-5k range, and 2.7 s in the $4-6k range, and fairly readily available.

(Remanned Coyotes also in the $4-7k range, but not sure what additional costs with a conversion would entail - and tons of those available)

I'd be on my 5th Bronco at that milage haha. Any engine to attain that is remarkable in 2026.

I would..... do a cheaper F150 coyote which has different exhaust cams and intake suited for a lower RPM band that maybe the bronco would like better :). Also F150 yotes are cheaper. When I did a 2012 Gen 1 swap at the time the engine new from Ford was $6700.

I am convinced that every person recommending a swap has never actually completed a swap and just wants to parrot what they see others say online. Especially not on a modern ecu/module/dfi era vehicle. Also, this is obviously a work vehicle for the original owner. Getting it back on the road and reliable is the important part, not making it less reliable and more gas hungry for what is obviously a highway car.

There's a YouTube channel out of the UK I believe where the tech does oil pump belt repairs on Ford's, mostly Transit vans and whatever Focus type car uses the wet belt. Usually they have over 300km on them but I think there was one that failed very early. I believe there's a GM product that uses a wet oil drive belt now as well. I've got a lot to worry about, my Bronco's oil pump belt is wayyyy... down that list.
