I have a 2 door Badlands, only mod is a 1.25” leveling kit (also have stock rims). will 35’s fit Without rubbing (from what I understand there shouldn’t be any rubbing as long as the crash bars are removed) If anyone has a non Sas / non lifted “stock“ 2 or 4 door Badlands with 35’s please post some pics. Thanks.

Black Diamond no lift with 35s. Had to remove front and rear crash bars in the front wheel wells.

runs fine but tanked the gas mileage and acceleration/handling a bit.

Some have mentioned with certain tires there is slight rub. Using 25mm spacers has been recommended for those. I might have read the standard size fender flares might get rubbed on when off roading in certain situations as the squatch flares are wide enough for tires to tuck behind in those.

True 35x12.5R17 tires and 315/70R17 are not quite the same thing. You might fit 315/70R17 but the slightly taller and wider 35x12.5R17 may not work without rubbing. Running a narrower 35x10.5” from Kenda or the 35x11.5 from Toyo would be a better call on the stock wheels. Another popular option (that I chose) is a 285/75R17 that gives a 1” taller tire but the same width, no rubbing issues.

Stock Badlands with 1.5” wheel spacers and 315/70/17’s. We’ve had The fender deletes for a while. Without spacers, the tire is about 1/2” from the upper A-arm. I’ve got all the crash bars removed and haven’t wheeled it yet. It looks like there is plenty of clearance. I’ve got a set of Eibach lift springs I’m debating putting on. The only reason I would put them on is to get a bit more clearance under the front skid/diff.

Mind posting a pic of your setup along with the wheel specs as well?

Stock badlands. 1.5 inch spacers. 2/1 zone puck lift. Removed all crash bars. 37x12.5 on them with zero rub. If I could do it again I would have gone 1.25 inch spacers for a tad less poke.

Non SAS, no lift, all crash bars still in place, no rubbing issues flexed out. Wheels are Method 17x8.5 +35mm, same size as the new Ford Performance Methods. I am planning on adding a 1.25” front leveling kit in the front when I get time to install.

I was very deliberate when choosing my wheel and tire upgrade, I wanted to keep the tires narrow and within the stock flares. I’ve gone too big in the past and ended up with rubbing, undergeared, submarining the MPG, or slinging mud and rocks up the side of the body. I didn‘t even have 50 miles on the Bronco when I purchased wheels and tires. With the 2.3L I was skeptical that it would turn 35“ or 37” tires well even with the 4.70 gears on the 7MT. I’m very pleased with the results. It drives the same as stock, but first gear is slightly more usable. The handling is still great and the truck is very stable. I still average 17 mpg city and 20+ highway. I’m giving up maybe .35” of clearance under the axles compared to 315/70R17.

Do you have details on which wheels/tires you got? I'm curious about the offset you had to get to achieve the correct geometry.

Wheel details are in the post you quoted, Method 17x8.5” with +35mm offset. I measured the outer edge of the tire sidewall (yardstick across the vertical plane) and the outer edge of the tread front and rear (small metal ruler from the yard stick) to calculate how much offset would work. I was sticking with 285mm wide tires, same as the stock BFG’s. Wider tires would’ve required more positive offset to keep the tread under the flares. I found a place I could articulate the suspension and took measurements with the front tires at their max steering angle to look for issues, there was plenty of clearance even at the crash bars. I was only pushing the tires out 20mm and adding 1/2” of radius, so if I could fit a finger between the edge of the tread and the crash bar it was enough space. I was also considering the 35x10.5R17 Kenda tires, they would’ve fit fine. I was concerned about the extra weight of the Kenda, 9# more per tire than the Toyo OC3. Hopefully that helps.

Here's my non-Sas BL when I was running the Kenda 35" x 10.5"s w/o spacers, cash bars removed

just about to upgrade to 35s too with this same setup (Except 4 door) - debating between ko2's and nitto grapplers. also any reason why you chose 35vs 37? i suppose saving on having to do a bunch of other mods? also seems it's nice to have some more articulation this way. looking dope!

How much was your gas mileage affected?
