Yes, I would most likely walk away and not care what the dealer does with it. I just have major misgivings about accepting a brand new car that's been sitting outside in the elements in some cases for half a year.
I think cars sitting for months isn't that strange. Most new cars, in normal times, set 2-3 months on the lot. It's just that now there is a vehicle that many people want and it's right there built, but we can't get it.

Video taken by CJ C. this past weekend.

"Is your Bronco sitting here on Belleville Road? Other than the few Rangers in the row closest to me (facing North), the rest are all Broncos for as far as the eye can see. "
I am sure this parked capital is driving the bean counters insane! As a Bronco owner, I feel for all those buyers who have their Broncos gathering dust on that lot. I wonder though, how often did Ford have to park vehicles like this. I am sure there are lots at all assembly plants where vehicles are parked waiting to be loaded on trains and car carriers. Can someone from MAP inform the rest of us how often these lots were used for long term storage pre-COVID and pre-Chip shortage?

This video needs a theme song. I have a good one. (My 2D BL has been sitting there since January 24th. Day 1 reservation holder.)

I don't mind waiting but there's no way I'll be accepting a 2022 vehicle in 2023.
I even told my dealer that if by June my build doesn't start, he better switch me to 2023

When the time comes, have them change the Priority Code to 99 which means it won't get scheduled. Have them take it off of 99 once the order banks open for 2023. Not sure how that would impact any price protection.

I didn’t even think about that…. Yes my price is locked in and is $2000 less than now, but getting a 22’ at the end of 22’ I’m sure that would barely cover depreciation of it as the 23s roll out.

Still a long time to be waiting, regardless. Person not supposed to be upset with a 1y+ wait? Seems a bit gatekeep-y on who can be "upset" since there are 2020 rsvps still waiting. Having empathy for both parties is not mutually exclusive.
