So, I lied…

I ended up finding enough time to go ahead and get my lighting installed up front as well as my Element fire extinguishers mounted on to my previously installed JCR molle panels.

Six days until I step off that fire engine one last time.

Yes there is no hard line option from my review. There should be. If anyone knows different it would be good to know.

@Firefight911 made me question my assumptions. The thing I disabled was "Wireless App Projection", which prevents Android Auto until I connect via USB. BUT, I was still able to stream music to the Bronco over Bluetooth without having Android Auto connected. The two things aren't tied together like I assumed - I just never tested using the phone as an audio source outside of Android Auto.

Here was my setup before (my USB cable was disconnected for these screen shots - so no Android Auto icon on the bottom row):

HOWEVER, after tinkering with it I was able to prevent all media streaming over Bluetooth with the settings on my phone:

Which changes SYNC to this:

So I can confirm that with these settings (Bluetooth Media audio is disabled on the phone and Wireless App Projection is disabled in SYNC), I can NOT play music from the Audio sources screen in SYNC, unless I connect the USB cable and use Android Auto.

I hope I got all that right.

If you're using an iPhone and Car Play, I'm afraid I can't help at the moment...

No this is interesting. Thanks. What I have done for years is use my iPod which has all my music and plug it in and leave it on the car. It works as a Bluetooth but the aforementioned stutter. So I’m going to see if I can get a direct connect and see if any other connection is possible.

So quick question for y'all wildtrak owners with 4 doors. Do the middle section windows have legal limit tints ? I just noticed today that they are "tinted" but the drivers and passengers are not. What's up with that or am I crazy and seeing stuff

Yes, the rear passenger side windows are tinted from the factory. There are no laws related to level of tint to rear side windows. Only to the front side windows and windshield. 70% in CA.

I ordered a clip holder for my phone to mount. I’ll post once I get it in. Love the storage pockets. Going to look for them.

Thank you for your detailed explanation! I was just about to dive in and figure out how to stop the automatic wireless connection to AA because whenever my wife drives and I want to investigate or map a new location, I'm blocked. The wireless integration is very aggressive! Can't disconnect or even "forget" the connection from the phone while driving! It will restore it within two seconds! Big-tech brother is very strong in this relationship and they obviously have full control! I must have missed that in the encyclopedia of fine print...

im going to say it now and out of frustration but I hate the soft top windows. I known it’s user error putting the sides back in but it’s getting more difficult each time, not easier.
