Odd, asked dealer for the rail car number and received this response

" I am not sure on how to check for Rail number, The Route code is RU84

But I can track exact location, it is passing through New Mexico."

Guess I need to ask Ford Chat.

Weird the dealer doesn't have your railcar number, but not so weird they know where the car is. They're using VinView which is apparently very accurate about the car's position.

Chat should know your rail car number though.

I received shipped this morning. Rail car TTGX988036.

( saw your post after I typed mine) It's kind of strange. My tracker was updated and now shows Built 1/12, Shipped 1/18, Final Preparation 1/19. I think these tracker updates are more about when they get around to updating the tracker rather then what the true actual dates were. How was it shipped on the 18th and in final prep on the 19th? I have an email into the dealer. I haven't received the email update you recv'd as of yet.

I sent an email this morning as well. Please let me know your findings and I’ll do the same. The dealer told me last week it’d be here in about a month so I’m lost.

To make it even sweeter the rail car # Ford chat gave me says it’s in Ohio lol

Update: It gets even better! Dealer said car still show in Michigan waiting to get on a train, Ford Chat says shipped with rail car number, tracker says Final Prep. Nobody knows!! It's becoming somewhat comical.

Well that escalated quickly because my dealer told me Thursday it was on a chip hold

Guess I’m getting dressed and headed to go see to see my salesperson about my bronco !

I don’t get how the shipping process was faster than Amazon though!

Anyone have there dates change on the tracker? I am not complaining about this error just seems odd since yesterday it says it was built and then today I got the e-mail saying it was shipped and so I log into and check the tracker and it is saying it is in final preparation and all the dates are completely different from yesterday.

I do not understand Ford’s shipping methods. I’ve called in and been told my car was scheduled to go from St Louis back to Chicago, gotten an email with an estimate of 4-14 February, and chat told me Saturday it was at Gateway railyard with an estimated arrival of 10 Feb. so I was settling in for a two to three week wait. Yesterday morning, my salesperson emails me to say it’s 146 miles away and do I have financing already, or do I need their application! I’m definitely feeling it will get here when it gets here now and and making no assumptions.

I must say I had called the rail tracking and it said it was in Wentzville mo (3 hours away) when in reality it was already on transport and being delivered. So it seems some of the updates are delayed

I don't think the final preparation status is triggered until the dealer acknowledges the delivery so it would be strange if the tracker shows that but the vehicle is not there. Could be a bug or a mistake by Ford though.

My status changed about 20 minutes after the truck arrived at the dealer.
