In Wisconsin, last Friday while stopped my Bronco started smoking. Smoke out from under the hood on drivers side and passenger close to windshield, not in front like it was over heating. There was a faint foul burning smell. I drove to the edge of the parking lot to get away from other cars and 3' flames were shooting out from the drivers side close to windshield and I was told underneath the car as well. I was able to stop, park, and get out of the car with the help of a man who came running to assist me. I was shaking. The windows blew out, the tires blew the entire car engulfed in flames before the fire department got there. Two police officers tried with extinguishers to put it out. I am devastated I loved my Bronco but now I am afraid of it. This car was purchased the end of May as a second car. Had only 782 miles on it. I think I drove it less than 10 times. Drove it from IL where purchased to WI. Bought it from a long time dealership. My husband said it had to be a gas leak and I have read that this has been an issue. Thought other owners should know and be careful.

Very glad you're ok! Are you aware of any custom lighting or item that was wired into the factory designated wiring under the hood /windshield area?

Bronco Sport had a gas leak recall on 21-24’s from fuel injectors that could crack, but not 2025’s.
As far as I know, there are no known gas leak issue on fuel size Broncos.

Either way, glad to hear you’re alright!

Glad you are okay -that is most important to all of us. And that you took the right action - protect yourself and people around you. Bravo on level headed thinking.

I can understand how rattled you would be from a brand new car bursting into flames. Vehicle fires are a sensational event - no doubt, particularly because they are so rare. It will take some time for that emotional trauma to subside. Just don't let other's' desire to perpetuate the sensationalism of the story to affect your outlook.

I hope this resolves quickly for you.

Rod Manchester area I guess?
I don't know the area but found this from Google search, from a Facebook post about a Bronco engulfed this weekend.

It doesn't really load for me because I don't have a Facebook account though:

Look on the bright side. No injuries and you get a new one. Better now than when it’s 5 years old leaving you to pay for majority of a new car. Sucks though.

I would have popped off the three quick release roof panels. Glad you made it out unscathed. BTW what motor did your OBX have?
