From Jeep TJ to Basequatch: Greetings from Acadia National Park (Pictures)

Howdy and greetings from Mount Desert Island, Maine, home of Acadia National Park. I'm J.R., longtime forum lurker and new-to-me Bronco owner.

Last week, I brought home a 2022 Cyber Orange 2-door Basequatch with the 2.3L & 7-speed manual. Before this, my daily driver was a 2006 Jeep TJ. The difference between the two is night and day, and I couldn't be happier with the Bronco.

I don't plan on making too many mods (famous last words, right?) since the Sasquatch package is already overbuilt for the handful of gravel fire roads on the island. So far, I've only swapped the Sasquatch fender decals for matte black Bronco script badges, added a color-matched gear-shift grab handle, and a matte black pony on the tailgate so all the trim pieces match. Minor stuff.

Included are a few shots I've taken since picking her up, plus some from around Acadia.

Glad to meet you all. Looking forward to sharing more dispatches from Vacationland soon.

Congrats. I was just there about two years ago. I love that it has beach and mountains all in one place. Bar Harbor is such a cool little place too: So New England town-like.

I did the opposite. I just bought a 2006 LJ Rubi. Well, not completely opposite. I'm keeping my Bronco first edition (That Filson is starting to give me an itch though).

Wow! Great timing! We are eloping in Acadia at the end of this month. How crowded is the park this time of year? My girl is concerned about parking for some spots where we want pictures taken, and are still trying to decide on a spectacular location for vows. Maybe a hike to North Bubble, or on Schoodic at Ravens nest. If you have any advice, or a spot that is relatively unknown, that would be great! We have an Airbnb reservation in Surry.
Nice Bronco! Ours is a 2 door, 7MT too.
