From a 1973 Bronco, the rear seat was a $94 option. The v8 was $124. I guess MPG was not a thing on window stickers at the time. But a second gas tank was a $37.90 option. Such a different world.

MPGs were not required on the Monroney Sticker until mid 70's.

Inflation adjusted price today would be $31,204.08
Considering how much more we get with the 2024 Bronco, it's actually surprisingly not bad if inflation was the only factor.

But with modern manufacturing and compared to what we are really getting with today's standards , they are completely over priced like the truck market, especially compared to cars, but that's the price of admission...

Yes, but it is not comparable. This 1973 did not even come with a radio and it had the smallest narrowest tires I have ever seen, but I am sure they were normal for the time. There was no passenger side mirror I guess that was an option skipped. no center console. No shoulder belts, no roll bar or any rollover protection. It did have a column shift 3 speed that meant the engine was really spinning some high RPMs to do freeway speed.

I looked up what the modern equivalent of F78-15 tires are and it's 225/75/15 which are what I have on my old 2002 Ranger!

$38 for an aux tank and plumbing. $80 for a Rotpax and that again for a mount. 😁

140 hp, 3 speed trans, 4000lbs...0-60 in 5-7 business days.
At least you could get that V8 sound. And do an engine swap without worrying about the computers playing nice with each other. I'd gladly take 1 of those over what is offered today.

Nostalgia is a helluva drug. They were definitely nice to look at, but sweating your balls off with no a/c and getting 10 mpg's wasn't worth impressing other dudes with the sound of your car's exhaust to me.

somewhere I have my window sticker for my 77 Ranger. Got it from the original owner when I bought it in ‘92. Every option but AT and AC. $6200.00.
The registration for my old '75 Pontiac showed that the original price was $5858. Should have kept it, they go for 4-5x that now, and 20x more than the $1600 I sold it for. *cry*
