I am really surprised nobody brought up the plastic oil pan earlier. It is a potential design problem with gasket issues documented already and could of course be a long term issue.
I believe there is an aftermarket replacement and I will just change it out. Oh by the way, when you take off the composite oil pan you have to replace it. Just saying. However, if Ford has not already done so they should provide the metal one.

The Ford bronco is not a trail endurance condenter with jeep the 2.7 has a twin turbo v6 with plastic oil pan how does ford we keep water out of the engine with them turbo tubes snorkel them the engine is big it takes alot of room up in a f150 this vehicle will be a nightmare to fix on the trail jeep has a hp rating of 190 hp off factory GM is rumored to have a jeep contender with the vortec inline six with improved quality and offered in a auto or manual with Dana's off the factory am waiting on that to see if it will be a trail contender it produces a little less than 300 hp that gm made in mid 2000s they already have the engine and a plant in Toledo ohio that produces the best transmisson on the planet they have the capacity and staff if u look on the net you can see the top of the new GM jeep on the testing grounds that's only pic I could find you choose I say wait guys until we know how this will do in the trail or what it's up to you

Are we expecting a timing chain in these? Ranger has a chain right?
I'd be interested as well. Do the 2.3 and 2.7 run timing chains? Anyone know if either uses rear chains? My 08 Explorer has the hellish front and rear chains. Also, anyone know which engine has the largest main bearings?

Which one y’all getting

I’m getting Sasquatch, so I feel like the 2.7 will perform better in power
Might mean mpg loss but I wonder if there might be a big difference in mpg comparing the 2

What y’all think about mpg 2.7vs 2.3

Edit: polls don’t allow me to correct typo,
“Nah, 2.3 I don’t need all that power”

I'm actually expecting the inclusion of Sasquatch to make more of a difference for mpg than anything. I'm getting a 2 door non-sas with the 2.7, my heart wants at least 20mpg but my brain says 17.

I think the gearing on these things will make them nippy no matter what engine you get.

Why wasn’t their an option on the voting tool to pick “2.3L with a tune after the warranty is up” because I plan on doing that once the warranty is up.

I can’t give up wanting a manual on my 2 door.

I think we should take note that the 10 speed auto is also mated to the 5.0, 5.2, 7.3 and other V8s and that would make a future engine swap V8 that much easier.
