Hey,

just installed my JLT catch can from my old Silverado. Just got some new hose and was able to repurpose the factory fittings.
catch can installed at 2500 miles.

Nice! How long to install you think?
about 15min. Longest part was finding a video on which hose goes to the intake. Then going to auto parts store for hose/clamps. Pretty basic. If I had some metal stock I would have routed the can to a different spot. But it works, and out of the way. When I go in for service, I’ll just disconnect the hoses and plug the factory back in.

I'm curious. With the 2.7 dual port injection, what is the issue we're trying to mitigate here?

I think I understand the potential issue with the 2.3...

Read several things and wondering the same thing. Why is this important on the 2.7?

What is keeping me from pulling the trigger is warranty issues

It may or may not be beneficial. I already had the catch can, so I installed. I’ve always ran a CC on turbo vehicles. But I agree with the sentiment it probably isn’t needed because fuel cleans the intake valves

I think I understand the potential issue with the 2.3...
Oil mist recirculates back through the intake and intercooler with the factory setup. The catch can captures that mist preventing it from going back through the engine. When the oil isn't captured by a catch can it will build up in the throttle body, intake, intercooler and valves.

We installed the UPR catch can on our Bronco (2.7L First Edition) and it works great. I've captured quite a bit of oil in it over time. Since we're running the Whipple calibration which has higher boost levels than the factory higher levels of oil mist is created.

I sent UPR a message through FB and haven't heard back, Dealer did oil change yesterday and said oil is blowing out the breather that replaced the oil cap, you had any issue?
