Man that is a pretty sweet video. I have so many questions but not sure here is the place or talk to someone direct…

Sounds like big gains = going to a shop to perform a custom flash tune. Been on the fence to a few ‘off the shelf’ flash & piggyback units, but back to the drawing boards to google the shit out of this.

Good callouts/lessons learned: watch your wheel and tire weights to help control power loss to the wheel.

I don’t know much about this place, but they’re located in Canada. You have to go in person in order to get tuned. ZFG racing can remote tune your Bronco regardless of where you are located. A few forum members, including myself run their tune. They’re largely considered the best Ecoboost tuner in the business and tune the fastest 2.7L Broncos.

Yeah a lot of the stuff from the place in Canada doesn’t seem to add up anyway now that custom tuning has been out for a while.
They were “maxed out” on fuel using 93, yet we can run full E85 and max out the turbos far before needing addition fuel 🤔

Did you ever get your E85 tune figured out?
I think so, I haven’t had time to run the dragy yet. My test road is blocked off for construction. But my butt dyno says it’s faster. I just installed the GPE manifold and t-body plus the boomba spacers today. I’ll post results tomorrow if I can.

This was the first tuned Bronco. Only thing before this was just the jb4. Think panda had a module, we had the ford tune and livernois has the modified ford tune. So there weren’t a lot of options. I had to pull my ford tune for this And I was specific. 93 only, no e85. The base line had no ford tune and the jb4 was disabled. So that was stock tune and bolt on numbers. Which you can see the bolt ons don’t do much with out a tune. All the actual tuning was back door around the ecu modifying sensor values, even the torque management was minimized. Most the tunes in the jb4 unit itself for the power. We had no access to the fuel map.

So with the meth I’m sitting a hair over 445 with no “legit tune”. Wally had map 7 loaded for when I added meth. Final
Numbers from them were at map 6. And I’ve never had anything out pull this truck from 27mph on a roll. That’s the magic number for the top of the down shift with boost loaded. And wild knows the struggles of holding grip on full boost Damn thing breaks all 4 loose on the down shift. No one ever sees that shit coming.

Now I’ve put some miles on her. Ran over 50 gallons of meth. Besides changing plugs I’ve made zero adjustments and it’s still a solid tune. So I have some items that were adjusted that a normal tune can’t access but at the same time I also could push this over 500 by adding a proper tune on top of it.

But end of day I wanted it tuned for off road play, the dragging ass at 27 was just a bonus and the sub 5’s for 0-60,
Puts a smile on my face every time. .

So when this tune was done, there was nothing to compare it to as it’s not even a standard tune. These guys worked some magic for what they had limited access to and I had every bolt on and the jb4 already, minus the meth that none of knew I’d need. Luckily Wally’s good friend owns alky controls and took good care of me.

So I got an axle support to add, 2 front coil overs to adjust then it’s complete. I’ll drive it for the summer and dump it in the fall. I’d do portals but it wouldn’t fit in the garage. Then on to the next money pit project. Not sure what that one’s gonna be. Already did a x3 before this. Thinking a Datsun 180 for the next. Garage is short. So I can’t get a larger car or I’d get a 350gtr or 500 if I had the room.

Dream build would be a rock racer. Don’t have the room or funds for that. Or a fab shop.

And I know some US shops hate dyno authority, not gonna call them out but I was approached by 2 other shops when they heard I was headed to Canada. They didn’t want me having dyno authority tune it. They knew it would kill there numbers because they know how to access the sensors they can’t and that was just before there release date. They spread some bad info on them. But I went. I watched it. I drive the truck daily. The powers there. It’s not some placebo. I know Wally’s Cadillac runs 9’s on meth and a dyno authority tune.

I can also say I smoked every raptor I’ve come across that wanted to fafo and never seen the ass and of a 392. At 27 I’ve out pulled Porsches, crotch rockets, Ferraris, corvettes, hell cats. By the time they figure out wtf is going on I’m already pushing 32lbs. Only thing they don’t know, is the truck cuts out at 103. lol. Hell, I’ve walked Trx’s on a roll. They’d win if they stayed in it. That little 2 doors sa damn explosive and the way the truck lifts, they just end up letting out.

Off the line I’m full boost by 7mph, front tires spinning. So if someone’s ready for it, I’m getting taken off the line from a dead pedal. I’ll catch them by 40. Now if they’re waiting and riding the pedal to see if I’m gonna get in it, they’re already fucked, the boost be loading and the meth flowing. Now if I do preload for launch, the whole ass end raises by almost a foot, there’s no hiding that.

Highway, I have to be a little more selective for what cars I mess with and what speed we’re at.

Truck was never meant to be the fastest truck out they’re, that’s wilds job. Was to be made for max torque for crawling and the added weight. So my current tune allows me to boost load for crawling. But for 6300lbs she does just fine.
Im at 25k miles. 17k on that tune and meth. I see no reason to mess with it.

Good information all around. Part of me wants to do something similar, but don’t want to be bound to MWI with a daily driver.

MWILD has me just about sold on ZFG. Their website and inatructions answred all the dumb questions right off the bat. Just debating whether running a nicer tune will burn anything up with potential knocking or Texas heat on just 93. Brings back horror stories of carbs + race fuel. More googling and thread searching unless any of you have words of wisdom.

Oh I’m well aware of how fast a bronco can get. Mine made 500whp with CR Performance stage 3 turbos.
I guess I’m still just confused on the numbers adding up.
Adam at ZFG, Arguably one of the best ecoboost tuners in the world, was able to get ~400whp on full E85 before the stock turbos were maxed out. So I’m just curious how they were able to get anywhere near 400 without an actual full/custom tune.
I mean 445 at the flex plate would make sense, but if that’s whp, I’m very confused lol

500whp is an absolute racket on these trucks.. Sleeper for sure! You have any videos of the build? We'd love to check it out.

1.88 60' would've been a pipe dream to imagine in an otherwise normal truck 20 years ago lol. How times have changed.. Really sweet build!
Thanks! Yeah I’m sure it’s got far more in it with a good set of tires. Maybe even an 11.
But these numbers are still on the stock 35’s lol

Wally doesn’t work specifically at Dyno authority. He was scheduled specifically for this tune as we knew it was gonna be a challenge. He’s one of the top tuners. Every saftey sensor on my motors disabled. So it’s basically timing and over boost. Knowing what could be pushed and the limits. Pretty much the jb4 overriding the system. I’d like to say more about it but I promised mark I wouldn’t give out the actual details for how they did it. Standard tunes inside a box. My tune was done outside the box. That’s about all I can say for that.

And honestly I don’t care if you believe it or not. It’s sitting in my garage. Your doubts have no bearing on what that truck puts down. Whole reason I stopped participation in this forum. I would have deleted my account and posts but I had way to many upgrades that others still use. So I left my account up for them.

I’d go with the zfg tune. Wally was brought in specific for my truck. Every saftey sensor on my motors disabled. That’s how he was able to get to power out of it. Plus the only way to tweak it is to go back to Canada.

And I only run 93. With the jb4 I can disable the tune all together or pick a map that doesn’t require meth. Meths for map 7 and 8. It can be turned on or off. Right now the truck thinks it comes on at 9 psi when it’s really at 14psi. It is a pain in the ass with a gallon meth tank. Gallon of meth per 2 tanks. Then the meth maintenance. And a catch can is needed with the meth also.
