Thanks guys for having me! My wife and I just picked up a 2025 Heritage in Robin Egg blue on June 21st! We love it so far-I come from the Jeep world, so I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions. We've been thinking of the ford tune for the 2.7 for the little boost in power (not that the 2.7 is lacking, but if more is easily attainable with warranty, why not?). I've seen some liken it to being in sport mode, however, my wife doesn't exactly like how aggressively sport mode downshifts going downhill with a tap of the brake pedal. Is the transmission calibration with the tune less aggressive than sport in that regard? I'm hoping the tune calibration is kind of an in-between of sport and normal. I don't want to spend 800 bucks for her not to like it.
If anybody has input or driving footage I greatly appreciate it!!

Just installed it last Friday on my 2.7 2-door, wish I'd done it sooner. It really just makes the shifts better, in either mode. It does feel noticeably quicker to accelerate and shift, but does not hold gears like sport mode will. In normal mode it's perfectly capable to drive normally and not quickly, but also the remembering the Auto Start/Stop setting is nice, but remember it requires premium.

Thanks!! We are already running premium to get the full potential out of the engine (our stations are usually 87-89-93). That pretty much answers my question. She was just worried that even driving calmly, any brake application would be met with aggressive downshifts that she wasn't intending.

Another thing to keep in mind, with or without the tune, Ford autos have adaptive transmission tuning - so they will adapt over time based on how people drive them. Be more aggressive with the skinny pedal, the trans will start to shift more aggressively to match — and vice versa.

So if you and your wife trade driving duties often - be aware the trans shift points will change somewhat if another driver sits in the seat for a while.

Makes sense-I think she just wants to make sure there isn't such a stark difference in how it holds gears with the tune calibration. The adaptive shifting either way is a pretty cool feature

No, it doesn’t do the hold a gear ‘till the trans blows‘ kind of thing outside of Baja Mode.

It’s livable, adds second gear 100% of the time and retains eco mode, which has a more luxury feel shift pattern for those Sunday drives to church with the mother inlaw.

but the boost… you’ll see 21-23 lbs of total max boost depending on fuel quality and temps. Heat soaks pretty fast though and pulls back on spirited runs, but it‘ll rip if under 187 engine temp when you hit it.

Biggest difference the tune makes is with shifting…for the better!
