Well, I did it! Pulled the trigger and got the Procal and other goodies from Lethal, now get the Beast here!!!
Awesome! You'll love it. Thank you so much for the purchase and support. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Hi, if I’m going to add the ProCal tuner, is there any benefit in purchasing the Pedal Commander too to get rid of throttle lag? Or will it be redundant?

Also, any recommendation whether I should wait to instal the tune until after the 1,000 mile break in period? Only have 25 miles so far…
Hi there! I would consider it a redudancy. The reflash from Ford Performance improves throttle performance already. The "written in stone" answer to how long someone should wait is really non-existent. I have seen different answers from different tuners/reflashers. We've tuned cars while they're still on the lot and we've waited on others. I, personally, believe a 500-1000 mile drive/break-in would be best as most potential issues with a new vehicle will show around there.

Whipple and Ford Performance are actually the only flash calibrations available for the 2.7L at this time. When I say flash calibration I mean that the PCM and TCM are both flashed with a new strategy. Whipple's calibration also raises the top speed limiter while the Ford Performance one does not. Both Whipple and Ford Performance give you the ability to adjust for tire size and gear ratio changes as well. They both give you the ability to disable the auto start/stop feature.

The other options such as the JB4 and VR Tuning are both piggy back modules. They use a harness to plug a box in between sensors which modifies the signal to the sensors and allows the vehicle to make more boost/power. Neither of these options actually flash the PCM/TCM so no changes to transmission tuning are made with them. These also don't have the ability to adjust for tire size, gear ratio changes, top speed limit and the auto/start stop feature.

Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with in the meantime.

Thanks!
Which option is going to give you better consistent gains? The flashes or the piggybacks?

I think the question leads to multiple avenues for an answer. Better is very subjective - I, personally, go with a full flash tune as the transmission tuning is sharper, too. I'd argue that the piggyback's give the potential of making more overall power as you can raise the boost past both the Whipple and Ford Performance tunes go.

Any of the options will be consistent, though, so I really don't think there is a "wrong" answer here. We've used Whipple on the shop cars and I personally went with Ford Performance on my car (this is Logan currently).

Livernois offers a full custom tune, but you have to bring your vehicle to them. I’m not 100% sure, but I think they swap the locked PCM with one of their cracked ones. Still waiting on them to post 93 octane dyno results, but the trans tuning, torque management revisions and speed limiter removal will be a nice addition that most others can’t offer.

Supposedly, this is how tuning will be handled with the Bronco for the foreseeable future. Not sure what SCT and HP tuners are going to do?

Thank you! I think that answers my my question. It's gonna be the procal for me.

It is worth noting that Livernois is the creator and maintainer of the Ford Performance tune.

For the modern Jeeps, they swap the ECUs so I feel like they do the same on the Fords.

Ordered this today. What was the deal with the cheaper version? This one says it’s VIN locked. I was not asked for my VIN. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Does that question come up when the install is done?
Hello,

They are on sale currently.

You pull your stock file and with the code given with the product, you'll "unlock" another tune to download/flash your vehicle. Check-out the install guide attached & thank you for the order.
