I noticed everybody calls them headrests even though the manual refers to them correctly as head restraints. Their purpose is not to rest your head on but to keep you from being a bobble head and breaking your neck in a wreck. They are a safety device is why removal is difficult.

They're easy enough to fold down so that they don't block your vision. They're still in the way of some stuff you put in the back, but the view is clear.
Yeah, but my dog sits in the back seat every day so I can chauffeur his ass all over creation.

Well the front ones are a safety device too and are easily removeable.
