In case you missed it from today's new set of spotted photos/videos, this piece of the Bronco's factory steel bumper comes off to make it a stubby bumper for more off-roading clearance!

don't want to lose that d-ring, tho. probs actually attached to the frame, so just more exposed when you make it a stubby bumper

What is the benefit?
bit better approach angle for the tires (and tires alone). in other news, this makes me think the whole bumper will be easily removed

I see the benefits of removing those pieces, But why have them there in the first place? Iā€™m guessing theyā€™re needed for safety standards...

When it's removed, it can help with awkward approach angles while rock crawling... and it looks cool

The tow ring is attached to the rest of the bumper. Not stub.

Yeah, most states require bumpers to extend beyond the frame by a certain amount and require fender flares as well when tires extend beyond the wheel well.

Seem like quiant requirements these days.

Yup.
I can crawl up some fairly steep rock faces if I come in at an angle and get a single tire on the rock. Removing the bumper wings allows for that.

And yes, it is hella cool. :D.

I will have at least 2 sets of lights in those bumper openings.

I tell you I think Ford and Baja Designs are in cahoots to get into my wallet more than they have already....

Iā€™ll be looking into Diode Dynamics for their pods.

I had them on the Rap, I liked them, but they broke, weight of the light and off roading going up and down cracked the bracket.
I switched over to a pod set below, better integrity but you lose some light with the recessing of the fogs.
