I always keep looking for ideas. This kit is in place of the hitch and looks great with that bumper indent for it. We will keep looking to offer something elses like always

You could use something like this?

I was thinking about using a different version of one of these as a rear fog light but something like this would work to provide extra light when in reverse. you'd want to put in a weather proof connector on that white wire so you could easily disconnect it when you need to use the hitch

We are testing another setup this weekend that attached to the tailgate hinges. Should report shortly.

Is there anything funky needed to add backup lights with the LED tail light option?

Can you just tap into the existing harness at the housing or do you need to do something else like with the interior lights? Like using pin #2 on the 7 pin harness for example.

I understand that the issue with anything that plugs into the Trailer Harness ends up disabling the Rear Parking Sensors (not sure about the Blind Spot monitors also). Of course, not a problem if you don't have either of those, but many of us will (or do) have them.

You wouldn't plug this into the trailer harness. you would just use the pigtail to adapt it to the factory harnesses since this harness connector is weatherproof and easily detachable
