Where did you pull your inputs for the sub amp from? You should have been shaking the windows after adding the sub without any forscan changes, if you pulled them from the proper kick panel speakers.

And for that sub you can just pull the plastic trim piece off the housing and install without any modifications to the sub enclosure.
I clipped the harness from the factory amp and used those existing speaker wires for the inputs to the new amp, plus used the existing remote wire to trigger turning on the amp. Then I taped up the existing power and ground line and ran the new bigger gauge hot wire to the battery.

True for the 6.75" sub, no modification needed after removing the housing, but for the 8" sub I had to cut a bigger whole.

I know what you mean. I'm 51 now and think the last time I made a sound system install was back in my late teens and early 20's.
Yeah. 53 now myself and it's not as easy nor fun ;)

Hate to hear so many people that upgraded to the B&O package did not get what they thought. the Kicker Key 200.4 amp has DSP and just that upgrade alone with boost the sound!
My understanding was, if I have the B&O, I have to replace the existing DSP in addition to adding something like the KK 200.4 but it's been a while since I last did that research. Might take another look.

Great notes. I did not get the pods. Do you know if the work that you did would work if I found the OEM pod bracket and harness?

Thanks…I am wanting to try the upgrade and your detail really helps

I am thrilled reading this thread. My 2023 bronco came with the B&O System. Before my bronco was delivered i when thought a bunch of videos and threads on how bad the sound system was and how to upgrade it. This thread is very helpful. Appreciate your time that you have invested for us to be informed.

yeah...to upgrade the B&O system with more than just swapping speakers, you'll need to bypass the DSP/amp at some point.
you won't be able to easily at aftermarket amps into the mix otherwise.
i had success with the PAC AP4-FD31.

IMO, Forscan is a waste of time on audio and you can use factory equalization or crossover to get amazing clean sound without adding redundant bass blockers, by using a nice line converter with dual amps and kicker dsp for highs. Many try to fix a problem that isn’t a problem, if you understand why it’s designed that way and use it to your advantage.

So you clipped the harness from the factory amp connection and removed the amp? Did you place the Key 500.1 In the same location of the factory amp? Any Pics?

Mobridge makes a drop in amp/dsp. It’s not cheap, but it’s a drop in. You can easily add an additional amp if it’s needed afterwards too.

correct. I mounted the Kicker Key 500.1 amp where the factory amp was located. It doesn't fit in the same holes but in general it makes for a nice place to mount. Here's a pick.

Hi Steve, thanks for the comments!
I don't know specifically, but if the factory ran the wires you should be able to clip into them. I would look at your rollbar area first and see if you have speaker wire pre ran, otherwise you need to run some lines yourself. That would probably be a job I outsource for me personally. The pods I posted comes with the correct wiring harness to connect your speakers to, by the way.
Good luck!

That was one of the ones I think I was looking at previously at Crutchfield. Did you happen to do a write up or know of one?

Thanks
