And I’m still on my first which looks as good as day 1. I understand the frustration of needing one replaced, let alone multiple. But it’s a stretch to assume they’ll all have issues. Many are problem free.
Many may also seem defect free until you look at them under the correct lighting. These photos are of one of my garbage tops. Same top in the photos, but different lighting.

The MIC top on my 2023 2-door is now 2 years old and has zero problems.
Some don't... mine is approaching 4 years old and is in remarkably good condition with the exception of the non-structural crack where the locating pin once lived.

I have no idea what you’re trying to say.
What was all talk? What second factory? And what does it being a Webasto product have to do with them making changes?

There have been multiple different part numbers now due to running changes. Part numbers don’t change for no reason, they change for revisions.
Things have obviously changed since I was working for a Ford dealership...part numbers change for a plethora of reasons, much coming from the supplier end of things, much more often than redesigns.
While I was waiting for my 2 Door in the spring of '21, there were many delays because of the tops and at one point Ford had suggested they were proceeding with a second factory for the MIC tops. Since this never happened I think most of what Ford claimed at this time was just spin about the top, including the different versions...the tops are physically identical, my take on the "different versions" is just fine tuning the manufacturer's process, NOT a design change at all and you would change the part number in this situation for inventory control.
I would say that Ford told Webasto to fix the issues, not Ford telling Webasto how to fix the issues
Again, we will agree to disagree I guess...

Yeah I'm not talking about complete redesigns. Obviously all the tops are still the basic construction and still going on the same vehicles.
But they have made multiple version changes over the years, probably to try and fix things, which I think is what the OP was asking.

I really don't think tinkering with mold times and production speed is worthy of calling the top a separate version, to me to call something different, it has to be at least somewhat different, but you do you and I'll do me and the "Rockstars", well, they do what they do! lol

Well I doubt they’d change the part number for either of those reasons 🤷‍♂️

Again, it's very common for a change of part numbers in situations like this for inventory control, you just might want/need to know which tops are which...

Get the painted top.

Dealer just ordered my first replacement MIC Top for my November 2023 build 4 door Badlands, it made it to 6K miles before the cracks started to show up.
