Howdy,

I have the Ford Performance Tune scheduled August 21 on my 2.7 Sasquatch 2 door. I’m mainly concerned about smoother shifting in 4 low on the trail. The added torque will be a plus too.

3rd to 2 second is especially lurchy going down hill in 4 low and hopefully it takes care of that. See post from another member.

Does anyone actually have offroad feedback after the Ford Performance Tune and how it changed 4 low shifting performance?

Ok
How fast do you go down hill in 4lo?
I remember a salesman once telling me you could shift the new Jeep on the fly at 90 into 4x4 (I’m old) and I asked why would I need to shift into 4x4 at 90, and what if I forgot to lock the hubs

Going over 5mph in 4lo engine rpm would be hi just wasting gas.

Folks shouldn't be so hesitant to use 4L. If your on a low traction trail, traveling between 0 and 20 mph, with significant sections below 10 mph there's no reason not to use it. You have better control and it's easier on the transmission. If you're always running in 4th gear or higher probably go to H. 25 mph in L is about equivalent to 75 in H.

Completely agree along with more control on the downhill instead of riding brakes. I think Lockedbronco has to come visit Colorado or Wyoming trails.

Will post my feedback on the Ford Tune for 4 low if anyone else doesn’t chime in that has done the tune.

You'll be running the same RPMs at 25 in low range as you will at 75 in high range, about 2200 in 10 th AT or 6TH MT, dependant on tire size and axle ratio
