FIRST right-hand drive Bronco in Australia 🇦🇺

Saw this on Reddit... thought it was awesome.

This is an US-spec 2021 Bronco Black Diamond with a right-hand drive conversion kit listed for sale on the Australian website carsales.com.au. Don't know much about it, but according to the seller listing, the conversion was completed by an Australian company called Mustang Motorsport.

Price you ask?? $199,990 AUD Around $131k USD, or $181k CAD. Pricey for sure, but the conversion looks super clean.

I know a guy who had his Ford E350 camper van shipped back home to Australia after a tour of the US, and had it converted to right hand drive. Super cool, but there's a hefty price to pay for driving a unique vehicle in Australia. Reminds me of my trip to Australia in 2000 where I saw a late 60's right hand drive Mustang.

I hate to say this as a Black Diamond owner, but you'd think you would rather do this mod on a Badlands or Wildtrak... Just saying if you're gonna go through the trouble.

I thought the same, but I get the impression based on their website that most of what they do is build-to-order. So this may have just been their test "let's see if we can even make this work" vehicle.

Back in the day Australia had a pretty high import tax based on the fair market and or purchase price of the vehicle. So people would sometimes grab a base model of a vehicle, import it, register it, and then go crazy with parts either from a higher end model and or aftermarket. I don't know what taxes or import rules are like now but I could see an importer starting with a more affordable model to gauge interest.

Glad to see the Bronco in Oz.
However, it should be FOMOCO selling it.

Ironic that the Bronco rides on a modified T6 Ranger platform (2011 to present) that was designed (superbly) by Ford Australia.
