Thanx. That's a relief--in Massachusetts many parking and rest areas are closed because of, um..."social reasons." If I specified, I'd be accused of a hate offence and banned.Renovations

Safe travels my brother! Looking forward to following you on your adventureI started my road trip yesterday heading from Portland to the Bay Area. It was just over 600 miles and it took me 11 hours. The Bronco did great although at close to 80mph the mpg is… disconcerting. But the seat is comfortable and the ACC makes it an easy drive. I’ll stay here for a couple days (picking up my Inspired Overland RTT tomorrow) and then heading out. I’m trying not to plan too much but I’m thinking my next stop will be Johnson Valley and find the Bronco plaque. Then Nevada and then up to Sand Hollow. I’m meeting my brother in SLC and then want to head to Moab.
Follow along as I will be posting as frequently as I can. I’ll also be posting to my Instagram account. https://instagram.com/swooshdave?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA==

Once I added the rubber seal up front you don’t notice any noise at all.Looks like awesome time spent with your Bronco and with the great outdoors!
Question: How's the noise with the Hooke Road Rack paired with the RTT compared to just a stock hardtop Bronco? I like your setup, but not sure how much more noise I want to live with.
Keep sending updates!
Range is hampered if we’re on the interstate going 75-80. But if we’re on the highways at 55-65 it’s much better. I’m not keeping track of the fuel spend. If I did I would have turned around and gone home by now.Awesome journey, appreciate you sharing and looking forward to doing similar with my Bronco! How’s the fuel situation been doing, you finding Bronco has plenty of range?
Would you mind clarifying what the rubber seal you added was? I'm running the same tent but on a Trailrax TRMR and the wind noise is tolerable but would like to be rid of it if possible.Once I added the rubber seal up front you don’t notice any noise at all.
There will always be a little extra noise with any rack and RTT. I feel the ultra slim Inspired Overland tent minimizes the noise.
Great trip so far! How do you like the roof top tent? Is the mattress comfortable and does it have enough space to leave your blankets and pillows up there? Thanks.Range is hampered if we’re on the interstate going 75-80. But if we’re on the highways at 55-65 it’s much better. I’m not keeping track of the fuel spend. I’m sure if I didn’t have the rack and RTT it would be much better.
So far I’ve put 3000 miles on it and I’m nowhere near half way.
ACC is a must have for these kinds of trips. It’s magical.
LOL, my Raptor has ACC and at first I "scoffed" at it, but once I tried it, never going back, how all CC systems should be...Range is hampered if we’re on the interstate going 75-80. There’s a thread on the Hooke rack. Let me know if you can’t find it.Would you mind clarifying what the rubber seal you added was? I'm running the same tent but on a Trailrax TRMR and the wind noise is tolerable but would like to be rid of it if possible.
I have an air mattress and a sleeping bag plus the ladder I store in the tent. My blanket and pillow are in the vehicle when not in use. I’d recommend not overstuffing the tent.Great trip so far!
