Aftermarket manual transmission swap into the 2.7 ?

would it be possible to swap the transmission in the 2.7 out for an aftermarket manual transmission? Has anyone attempted this?

The key word here is "possible".

It is possible to send a manned mission to Mars, the big variable is cost. There is no easy bolt-on MT swap for the 2.7. It would take a completely custom endeavor, including a galactic challenge of programming for all the computer systems that talk to the transmission.

Possible? Probably
Worth the $$$? Probably not, unless you have SEMA build money or greater.

You would be better off cranking up the horsepower and torque on the 2.3 engine.

Possible for sure, but as @E. Davis mentioned... not economical.

The 2.3L EcoBoost has been paired with the MT82 transmission in the Ford Mustang for years, as well as the Focus, Ranger, and Everest Ford sells overseas. The MT88 transmission in the Bronco is similar to the MT82, and likely why Ford was able to add the manual trans to the Bronco.

Ford has never paired a manual transmission with the 2.7L EcoBoost before, so there isn't really a factory configuration to base it off of. You can do it for sure, but you'll have to do all of the work yourself—there is no blueprint for it.
