Am I the only one who is not a fan of the factory roof rack?

I want to carry surfboards and maybe an enclosed roof box from time to time. Does anybody know some good alternative rack options?

I have a 2dr, so I'm sure that's going to complicate my search.

I'm in the same boat. I'm surprised there isn't a single OEM-esque roof rail option given the high demand for the Ford one. If any aftermarket roof rail pops up before ski season I'll be front of the line. Otherwise... I guess we're going stock :/

Maybe the aftermarket just needs some time to get something better produced.

I have the Trailrax for my 2 door and love it, I use it the same way you described in your post. Highly recommend it.

2 door rack is hideous. Strap a bar across the roll-bar like the riptide concept rack.

have you seen anyone do a DIY/concept rack with the roof on?
I haven't seen anything close to shipping and nothing for the 2 door.

I remember a couple OEM 2 door racks pop up here but they sold fast.

I don't mind the factory Yakima one but I really like TrailRax.

I currently use a ZROADZ. It's great except you can only remove the front row roof panels. The other option is a Trailrax which allows the first and second rows to be removed. Both are winners!

Here's some info:
Trailrax
ZROADZ

Here's a video on the ZROADZ.

That's actually the best looking option I've seen so far, although I don't know if I can justify spending more than Trailrax on it... Do you know if they've given out a bronco6g coupon?

Actually there's another option which I'm currently running, which is a JCR. I've run JCR's products before and have been very happy with them as a company, but this was the first rack which I found that seemed like it was built with purpose and expandability, rather than strictly for profit at the end of the day. Not to mention compared to the Trailrax it is both the full and half rack in one, you don't have to purchase them separate like you do with Trailrax. I run a CVT Mt. Rainier tent and OVS awning, no issue and it handles it like a champ, will be ordering the side window mounts as well. I'd check them out if you haven't yet.

These are all really good looking options, but overkill for me I think. Perhaps OEM is the best route for my purposes.

I might have to start looking for a used one on here.
