I'm actually in the process of installing a DV8 aftermarket bumper, but there are all sorts of lighting options and I'm looking for some input. The F15 bumper has a rectangle cut out that you can use to install a 20" light bar or six of the 3" pod lights. I'm replacing a standard bumper on a Big Bend with stock fog lights. I think if I go with the 3" pod lights, I can use the stock wiring harness on the two outside pods, then wire the four inner pods to the 15A aux switch. That would save my 30A switch for a light bar on the roof.

The pods are 40W each. I would need a double row 20" light bar if I went that route and that would prob require the 30A aux switch. So hoping to avoid that.

Next is color considerations for the lights - amber or clear? Or I could use a combination, since there are six pod lights. Four amber in the middle and two clear on the outside?

What about ditch lights? DV8 has a couple different brackets that allow you to install two lights on each side of the cowl. What color lights do you like to run there? I was thinking a white pod on the outside and an amber on the inside.

We've got the lights and harnesses you need to do what you need and keep it simple. Let me know or check out our website.

I'd recommend 1 pair of fogs on the factory switch, and then the other lights on aux. switches.

If you did 3 pairs of lights you can mix and match colors/options.

1 pair in white fog
1 pair in yellow fog
1 pair in combo

Would be ideal.

White fog are good for regular use.
Yellow fog are good for bad weather.
White Combo is good for off-road use.

I'm not a fan of dual lights on the a-pillars, I think it's a bit too much. That's my personal opinion. I'd recommend the Diode Dynamics Combos for the a-pillars. We sell a complete kit here: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/diode-dynamics-stage-series-ss3-ditch-light-kit-for-2021-ford-bronco/

Spot pattern would be good too, if you do the combos in the bumper, spot on the a-pillars to get that light further down the road.

You can grab the pairs of Diode Dynamics lights from us (we have everything in stock): https://www.4x4truckleds.com/led-auxiliary-lights/diode-dynamics/

The harnesses will vary based on what lights you select

SS3 with backlighting: https://www.4x4truckleds.com/crysta...arness-2x-dt-4-pin-connectors-diode-dynamics/

I assume you are coming from a plastic or capable bumper? If so the pigtail for the factory fogs would be of htese:

I went with amber DRL and backlights, but all fog lights are white when on. I like both the look and functionality of them. Pics attached. Have avoided pillar and roof lights due to the added wind noise, upgraded hi beams and 6 pods is plenty

This is my opinion (living in MN with snow, rain, fog...):
- Yellow fog lights (not amber) lower in/on the bumper pointed towards the road to light up the road during snow etc.
- White lights for ditches, driving.
- Amber backlighting more for looks.

This works for me.

Thank you! Here is a link to the kit. Makes for an easy install and this company @SPVPARTS has phenomenal YouTube install tutorials and over the phone customer support.

I went with the 1 radiance and 2 scene combo (3 per side). Middle is a radiance that works as a fog light on Aux 2, Aux 3 controls all the outside scene lights for brights

Yellow/amber messes with my eyes but folks think they are better in “rain/fog/dust” so maybe set of yellow/amber fogs, Clear fogs, & driving (all SAE) in the bumper. Combos on pillar and driving plus spots on the roof. At least that is what I have (- amber/yellow & driving on roof) just not as many you are thinking. I have plenty of light..

The Diode Dynamics fog kits we offer include that as an option. Better yet, they offer STREET LEGAL options so you don't blind folks AND you can combine some off-road lights into the kit as well, since we let you select the kit. We also include our popular plug and play harness which makes installation easy

You're getting an aftermarket bumper so you can use the links I posted earlier, but this will give you an idea on what it'll look like with the Diode Dynamics SS3 w/backlighting

very similar to the DV8 bumper I purchased. Unfortunately, my lighting pocket is confined to the center of the bumper. The lighting options are a 20" bar or six of the 3" cubes.

I think the SS3's are the way to go. I can still use the stock pigtails from the foglights I'll be removing. And I can do combo lighting while still using these on the street.

I can't speak to what will actually fit in your bumper, but here's a comparison of those Diode Dynamic lights discussed above. When I was looking at pods, I thought you had to go amber or white. Liked the amber look better, but wanted to the lights to shine white. The options are actually yellow or white, both of which can have the amber backlight that's just connected as a separate aux switch.

Here's a comparison of totally off, amber only, SS3 in the street legal SAE with ambers (which I typically drive in), and all 6 pods on (not street legal in my case).

The SAE SS3's are a huge help at night.

Silly question, but how to the back lights work? The post by ajnotoj shows all the lights off, then backlights on and finally full power lights on. I see the there is a pigtail specifically for the backlight for the stock wire harness connections. Will the backlights also work with the aux uplifter switches from the factory?
