Is the part not covered under warranty?
It's supposed to be warranty no matter what until you already have 30k+ miles on it (highly unlikely I'm sure). So it SHOULD be, but the dealer told me that they dont know if the popping is a problem (which it is) and if the part does not fix the sound, then they will charge me for it. I told them to go and rev any other 2.3 in the lot and let me know if they make that sound. The tech said “uh yeah i dont know what on our lot has that engine”. I just got fed up at that point lol . Just find a good dealership and they wont pull this with you im sure
Not a dumb question at all! BPV is a Bypass valve, it has so many names lol. Basically instead of sending out a certain amount of air into the atmosphere like a BOV, it recirculates it back into the turbo to prevent fluttering/damage to the turbo. Usually stock cars come with BPV for the quieter noise. This may be a dumb question. But what does BPV stand for I know BOV is blow off valve.
I would tell them the recirculation valve is making an abnormal loud clicking sound. Tell them to check the charge pipe, which is the tubing the valve is connected to . That seems to be the problem from what im understanding. I installed aftermarket, and it had other problems with fluttering. I would try to do it OEM. Let me know how it goes, good luck!!Definitely having the same issue. Just want to know what im talking about when I take it in? When I asked the dealer about this awhile ago they did not know what it was. Would a new aftermarket BOV fix the issue or just have the dealership install a new one? Thanks for the knowledge.
Thank you. appreciate the info.I would tell them the recirculation valve is making an abnormal loud clicking sound. Tell them to check the charge pipe, which is the tubing the valve is connected to . Yeah, I took mine in for its first oil change yesterday. They ran the Bronco by the guys that deal with the engine and components to show them the "click". They said some Broncos make louder noises than others with the turbo and BPV, but the noise was normal. I'm still not 100% sold on it, but not sure what else to do at this point.I have noticed mine doing this since I got it, 3300 miles later, no issues. At this point I dont think its an issue, just a quirk.
Oh man that is bad ! There is no way this is normal lol. Hopefully a fix for it comes to lightYeah, I took a video today with my wife helping. Does y’all’s “clicking” sound as bad as this?
Hey hey, any updates with the charge pipe? Might have to order one if it worked out hahaWill definitely let you know what happens with charge pipe.
I traded a manual 2017 Tacoma trd off road for the bronco. I would never go back to that truck.
