Still waiting on the part. Latest update from the Ford "customer experience specialist" is that it is expected to be shipped by Wednesday of this week.....after they supposedly expedited the part over a month ago.

On the plus side, my family and I took the Bronco on a 2 week trip from Southern California to NV, UT, AZ and back without issue.
sorry that they’re taking so long…

happy to hear about the trip that sounds like fun!!

So I just read this from the beginning... how in the fuck is the cac tube installed wrong? The only thing that could go wrong is it was loose (either on the turbo or the cac), they literally only go in one way and one way only.

I actually had this conversation with my friend last night. If it was installed incorrectly, it would be leaking, causing either a lack of boost or no boost, which I don’t think any of us are experiencing. I still think the issue is a sticking BPV but I could be wrong. I mean what else could it be?

You would also have heard the tube blow off when I built boost, then a it would sound like a rush of air anytime you depressed the throttle.

Honestly, if y'all aren't experiencing any performance issues with it, it could just be the fact the engines are so quiet now you hear everything. Even the things that may be operating normally but since you don't hear the engines anymore everything is just that much more noticeable. Same thing happened with the 6.7's when they came out. Everybody that owned a diesel before was used to hearing the distinct diesel sound, then this quiet monster rolls out. I think the biggest complaint from customers was they could hear the blend doors moving for the a/c from my experience.

I don't hear this noise with mine, I'm also not actively looking for it. And if it's a noise that I have to pop the hood in order to hear, I'm not going to worry about it.

If you listen closely at the end of each rev, you can hear the popping noise from inside the cabin and hood closed. It’s just even more pronounced and easier to show the issue with the hood open. Here is a video from inside the cabin with doors, windows, and hood closed.

Just as Dustin said, it is very pronounced in the cabin. basically all the cars I have owned are turbo 4 cylinders, and I have never heard the BPV that clearly inside the cabin. It is not normal.

I will say, I don't think anyone is experiencing any serious "issues", but it is concerning at most, and annoying at the very least. It should not be that loud.

I wasn't denying it being the BOV, it's clearly the valve opening when you let off the accelerator. I'm just stating that it could be a normal function of the valve. I saw that someone else replace it with an aftermarket valve and it became worse? Not sure what they mean by worse as aftermarket valves usually make it more noticeable and have that "cool I have a turbo" sound to it.

Edit: speaking of, did the new one ever come in?

Keep all of your receipts for your service visits at the dealer and monitor it. If it gets louder or other issues arise take it back in. Don’t work on it yourself. Use your warranty.

Welp, no surprise that the charge pipe didn’t fix the problem. And in the 2+ months of waiting, Ford apparently decided that the noise is “normal” and there’s nothing else to do.

Have you guys had any further luck with this issue? I can't stop hearing this noise when driving and it's making me crazy. I wish we could get a group of 2.3 7MT Broncos together and do a test on each rig.

Just noticed this issue on my 2023 2.3 7MT. Has anyone had success squashing the issue by replacing the oem BPV with either another oem part or an aftermarket piece?

nope lol. I tried to replace it with a turbo smart bypass valve, but that just caused turbo flutter. Not sure if the blow off valve would be better (probably not). You could also try sound deadening for the hood. That would probably make it slightly more tolerable. I’m surprised does still hasn’t addressed this.

Just tried to find other posts about this. It seems like some people’s waste gates get stuck and have to be replaced, or have their turbo replaced. They’re usually at low mileage though so can’t say it’s the same issue. I’ll find the video I took of the sound my engine made with the turbo smart valve too.
