Hey all - if any of you are like me, I dont listen to AM/FM radio at all. Always either listening to Spotify or SiriusXM. Therefore I do not need the factory antenna and the fact that it whips around all over the place & hits in some parking garages, I want to get rid of it. I have seen some “delete” kits that are in the $20 range that are a threaded screw with a plastic head on them, but figured I could use a simple “panel push retainer” in the threaded hole. Found the perfect diameter for the top as well as the length and thickness so it looks perfect. Figured I would share. I got this from Advanced Auto for $3.99.

Good idea.

I used a stainless steel allen screw from the hardware store I hit with a black paint marker. I added a small neoprene washer to keep water out of the hole. I did end up buying one of the 3” Cravenspeed antennas for the $20 later because I wanted the ability to pick up some stations in an emergency (hurricane, etc.).

I kinda like the stock antenna scraping on parking garages to be fair — lets me know I’m an inch or two away from can opening the truck

I did exactly the same based on your suggestion. For whatever reason, the panel push retainer using that same product code looked different. As a result, it didn't quite fit and was a little loose. However, I also bought a variety pack of o-rings, found one of the smallest and shoved it into the antenna housing. After that, I inserted the panel push retainer and it fit like it was made to be there. Thanks for the great suggestion!
