So I finally was able to see what AMB looked like in person and boy was it a let down, maybe that was because the truck i looked at was absolutely filthy like it just was delivered. I looked at AMB on a new Super Duty on a cloudy day and on a sunny day with full sun. On a cloudy day the color is very dark and barely distinguishable from black. On a sunny day you can see the blue slightly more but nothing like the B&P photos. The metallic blue only comes out when you are at specific angles to the sun.
Like black, it will look awesome when clean and shiny; awful when dusty or dirty. Wouldn't stop me from getting either black or AMB because I clean and shine my vehicles weekly; easy to do in Arizona climate. I've had at least one black vehicle in my garage for over 20 years.
AMB. Local dealer. It was filthy and a cloudy dark gloomy day out so I expected it to look black based on other pics online. It’s actually still navy (not black) in gloomy conditions so I’m sold. Can’t wait to see it in sunlight. This thing will look amazing with a black top
I like it and love the blue pop. Need to check out in person to see if it's too dark or black in shade.
So far I times l ruled out A51, CG and VB after seeing then all in person...... Running out of colors
My local Ford dealer finally got AMB in the lot on an F250, so went to look at it today to get my own perception. I have long been in the “AMB is too dark” crowd (and I still am, would love if it were a couple of shades lighter), but from the moment I saw it pulling into the dealership it was undeniably blue.
These pictures were taken around 4PM on a bright Central Texas day, so the sun was pretty much hitting the side of the truck in full force. I’ll have to go back on a cloudy day and compare.
(Agate Black left vs AMB right vs bonus black Camry )
The shaded side of the truck did almost look like it was a black truck with blue sparkles. It really is a beautiful color, however I’m just unsure if that’s the direction I want to go for the Bronco and my uses.
Side note: there was a Carbonized Grey F150 too that I didn’t take photos of, but that is also a suuuuper nice color. It’s not as light as some photos make it out to be. My current truck is Grey so wanted something different for the Bronco but Carbonized Grey might be a dark horse.
Grabbed some pictures of an F-150. Late afternoon, cloudy day. Dark blue color, but still obviously blue. Was able to immediately identify it in the row of trucks. Personally, I really liked it.
I've been carbonized grey since day one but these photos are making me reconsider. I really like how it's a dark, dark blue almost black in the shade and on cloudy days, but has some navy blue pop in the sun. I'm having second thoughts now...
It looks great in the direct sunlight, kinda Meh in all other light. (Appears black)
I will never own another black (or nearly black ) vehicle. Shows every little scratch, towel swirl and speck of dust. I am WAY too picky for that, it would drive me even crazier.
Ive been meaning to take a picture of my dad's 21' F450 in antimatter blue but here it is! This was taken right before noon, But I LOVE the color! its very dark but in direct sunlight the paint really shines. I can't wait till summer! I really want this on my FE but Lighting Blue will have to do.
