Big fan! I wish Ford would build an F-1 engine, and get involved in Grand Prix racing again. We need an American driver too. I'm tired of seeing other Countries dominate the World Driving Championship! ?? Merica!
I was very hopeful with Correa, unfortunately, unless he makes a miraculous comeback, I don't think that will happen... next up for the US might be Jak Crawford, a fellow Texan, signed with Red Bull and going to Formula 4 next season :)

I'm a long way from retirement, but this was going to be my year to finally take the "long" 4 hour drive down to COTA to see them race for my birthday but noooooo.... not happening :(
Yeah, I've got extended family in San Antonio so part of the plan was also a visit out there as home base then taking the not-nearly-as-long drive to COTA. It sure looks like a beautiful circuit and the buzz from the drivers has always been positive. Plus there's the Texas BBQ Trail nearby as a bonus!

Yeah, but this year not the same for me without the Corvette Racing team and Porsche only sent half a team. So, normally, I stay up all night and watch the whole damn thing but this year I'll get some sleep and then watch the final hours. But it's on right now, of course.

Iā€™ve been a huge F1 fan for about a decade.... first started when Jensen Button won his title. Since then Iā€™ve been rooting for Mclaren. Very excited for Lando and Danny Ric next season.

But why? IMO Ferrari needs to be at the front always. Not absolutely dominant like the Mercs these past few years, but they need to be there. Maybe I think this way because I'm a product of the Schumi years, but seeing Ferrari in this state breaks my heart. I wish that Vettel could have a nice swansong year and Leclerc needs to be fighting at the front, that's where he belongs.
Ferrariā€™s decline this year is due to them and FIA end of last year having a closed door meeting. Seems Ferrari was using parts not allowed which made them super fast in straight lines. Idk if Ferrari had to admit guilt and had points taken away but they were forced to use older engines this year which is why theyā€™re slow and canā€™t compete much.
This is also Vettels last year with them and it sounds like both parties are ready for it to be over so I donā€™t think his heart is really into it.

McClaren will be the fun team to watch next year

Been a big fan since partway through the 2014 season. I started out being a Hamilton/Mercedes fan before the dominance was apparent. Now counting down the MS records. :) Looking forward to watching the crop of new kids. While I do respect Bottas, I can't wait to see Russel in the Merc. alongside Hamilton. Even without the rule change next year should be quite interesting in the midfield. McLaren with a Mercedes engine and their new driver combination should be able fight Red Bull for the podium on a regular basis.
Merc fan here but going to pull for McClaren next year. I was a Nico fan and then he retired. Bottas is a great guy but itā€™s so apparent heā€™s a support role for Lewis where Nico was a rival which kept things interesting.

Hamilton is a phenomenal driver, no doubt. But these records heā€™s breaking are largely due to Mercedes significant investment and innovation in the sport. I think Schumachers achievements and records are a bit more deserving because things seemed way more competitive back then compared to this typical Mercedes one/two we see nearly every race now.

Huge fan. Lucky enough to have gone to Silverstone last year, got some great pics and got a tour of pit lane and to see a ā€œfiresideā€ chat with Lando Norris who has become my favorite young driver. Cant wait to. see McLaren with merc engines next year.

I'm bored with B&P/I wish the FE came with more colors threads. So, while we're just waiting on the next round of news, is anybody into F1?

I'm a country kid from Texas, so it may seem odd that I'm a big F1 fan, but I am. Anybody else?
Yes...first one I followed was Senna, watched him get messed over by the teams followed by F1...then to die with mysterious racing (suspension) issues...

Then I just started to watch it as a sport watching the immense skill set that they possess to drive into corners at insane speeds and the skill to make it through...

NASCAR could learn some lessons from them, drive in the rain is one...

However when Gordon and Hamilton swapped cars as a folly they did well in each others cars...

Now I like almost all of them, sad to see Ferrari sink as low as they have but seeing some of the "minor" teams start to "compete" with Mercedes and Red Bull teams...

Would like to see the sanctioning body stay out of the racing "incident" parts of it, Hamilton finally was given a steep penalty at the Italian GP... Wanted to see Sainz get the win before moving to Ferrari...

Yes I am addicted to it...

Mercedes 1 2 finish there as well...

I was thinking that they brought Bottas in as a development driver but wow has he impressed when allowed to drive his car to the limit...

Hate team rules but with the amount of $$ on the line they feel the need...

that race was phenomenal and I was rooting for Gasley and so happy he won. Early last year I wasnā€™t a fan. And then the more I learned about him, the more I understood his predicament. Sainz is great, no doubt. And I get why he was a bit upset, despite it being his highest place finish. But Gasley drove so well those last few laps. probably one of the best races Iā€™ve watched
