So I need to take delivery on my Bronco this week. I've financed all my more recent vehicles as the rate has always been below 2% which I can easily beat even with conservative investments. However its now looking like ~6% is the going rate which I could only beat by being more aggressive which I don't really have the stomach for. Is anyone getting much better than 6%? I'm thinking about just writing a check for this one.

6% may be on the low end of the range...just looked at a few local banks and credit unions websites, ranges from 6.5% to near 8.5% depending on length of term and amount financed. These were also for their new car rates..the rates tend to get a little steeper if you're going used and more than 2 years old. The higher rates also affect lease money factors, so leasing is costing more as well.

Yeah I don't think I'd finance unless I could get sub 5 which I don't think is happening.

I just financed with my credit union, Tier 1 credit, and got a 7.74% for 84 months. The lowest rate was 6.24% (up to 48 months).
Wow! make additional on your payments if you can!

Based on 50K loan:

Total of 84 monthly payments
$64,919.38
Total interest
$14,919.38

Yes! That’s the plan. Hopefully rates go down soon too, I’ll refinance and keep making higher payments.

I'm right at 6.1% at 60 months through my CU but I've hear some are saying 9 1/2% which is nuts. I plan on paying mine off in 18 months.

I took delivery of my Bronco couple weeks ago and I went the leasing route. I’ll refinance once the lease term ends hopefully by then interest rates would regulate. I know leasing is not a favorite to a lot of ppl but it’s worth looking into

The days of 2% loans are long gone unless it is some sort of manufacturer incentive. That was a once in a lifetime event.

My Bronco was about 6%, my wife's 4Runner was the same... the finance guy said "wow these are really good most people are getting 10%" which was crazy to us. We both use credit unions but Capital One was the best offer so we went with them.
