Wow 5% . My credit score is 760. What you think I'll get . Also what's tier 0 credit mean lol
Tier 0 at Ford is the credit scores that qualify for the best rates

Tier 0 is usually 740+ I think

So look around at your local credit union or bank and get a rate. on e you have the lowest rate, shave off a half percent and bring it to the dealer with your credit score and say my credit score is X and I can get a percentage rate of Y (Saving off half a point). If you mr dealer can beat it, I’ll go through you. Worked for me 3x now.
I've done that before but it didn't work on the Bronco. My dealer flat out told me Ford wouldn't match the offer I had from my CU on a high demand vehicle. My dealer did find me another CU that had an even better rate, 2.34 for 72 months.

Wait your dealer works with other credit unions ? They don't push Ford credit ?

My dealer doesn't even mention Ford credit.

Just picked mine up yesterday. Dealer F&I guy offered me 2.49% through a local credit union. I was happy with that rate. $5K/48 months. My car note is less than my cable bill.

Yes. I'm going to use that cash to finish a kitchen update, which is much cheaper than using my HELOC. I will pay it off in 24 months or less.

Why not walk in with a pre-approval from your bank and ask if they can beat?

It does two things
  • Eliminates the "shotgun" theory of then sending to everyone and look for the higher interest rate (some/most dealers get kickbacks for the higher rate sales)
  • It turns into a win-win for you no matter what.
If they beat it they beat it, if they don't you still get the lowest interest rate
