I'm leaning away from an actual mount and may buy the model that comes in a container and has a tank. THen I weould add an electrical quick disconnect to my bumper. This way I won't have to open the hood, and maintain portablity. as an example....

I'm ready to buy an ARB dual air compressor, but am undecided on what mount to pair it with. Do any of you have any experience with, or feedback on the pros and cons of the current options on the market? Did I miss any of them?

KR Off-Road Bracket

This seems to be the first one to market, has good reviews, and is probably the "safe" option.

Looks pretty similar to the KR bracket, though the support mount is different. Possibly better, but w/ a somewhat more involved install process?

Mounts vertically rather than horizontally and seems to be more tucked away. Requires relocation of the ECU. I don't know of anyone using it, nor do I know what the install process is like.

Trail Recon speaks highly of this option, though he also sells it FWIW. Seems to be most similar to the SDHQ bracket in mounting position/orientation, but with more of a cage around it.


Desert Does It Mount

This one mounts in the rear cargo area, which can't hurt compressor longevity. On the other hand, it would be noisy in the cabin while in use. My biggest concern is running adequate wiring to it, since I suspect I'll need to go to the battery? Is the ARB-supplied wiring harness even long enough? It's the least expensive of the ones I've found, but that's not a high priority among my selection criteria.

This will be my first experience with on-board air compressor, so I appreciate any feedback from those of you with more knowledge and experience on this subject!

this is what I did, no moister heat or dust. I’m usually outside the bronco when I’m airing up so noise isn’t an issue. tail gate is open during use so it stays cool. They get very hot...

Any extra details on your setup? How do you have the wires routed?

I used 10/3 marine stranded wire routed thru the interior of the bronco To the battery For power and ground. I’m using the OEM wire that runs to the rear quarter panel and the #6 switch to turn on the compressor. 10/3 marine Wire was expensive But worth the investment.
The compressor is on a Putco molle panel (NOT A TABLE) attached to the tailgate, it’s solid no noise. Putco makes these plastic feet that fit behind the molle panel and center in the opening.

I have the Grimm bracket and like it, one issue is the mounting location interferes with the hood struts I added so I had to remote mount the filters.

Interesting. I feel this is a case of left hand, right hand. I talked with Christian and the engineer (can't recall his name right now)

I am either going with the AGS tail gate mount after I upgrade the hinges or the EPIC kraken…… to complicate things I want to go with the TJM Pro series twin compressor.

Well bummer, I think I am going to make my own then. I already have the compressor mounted and most of the components in the system look like standard industrial push to connect fittings.

While not the same as the Kracken you can use our switch panel under the seat. We use them on the JK's we do. You'll need to run an air line to the seat from under the hood (or wherever you mount your compressor) but this is what it looks like on the JK (it wasn't BUILT for the JK but we re-purposes our Bronco switch panel on the JK)

Again our bracket was not purpose built for seats, so that's why it sits high. If/when we do a seat mount, it'll be horizontal instead of vertical
