I am old enough to remember when my worst fear was for my junker to die while stopped at an intersection, so now every time my new FE stops I have flashbacks to 1968.

Not sure what the "feel" means. I'm just glad it wasn't running for that minute or two. Kind of like the feeling seeing solar panels on my roof. Some think they are an eye sore, but I think they're beautiful.
I absolutely enjoy hearing certain folks cry about how senseless solar is ....and the very next sentence is complaining about the cost of energy.

I'm an electrician and love the idea of super energy efficient homes.
I cannot understand the hate for free energy and the ability to be free from or at least loosen the grip of the energy cartels.

I'm also an electrician, and a significant amount of my work in this profession has been in building solar power systems.

What is this “free energy” of which you speak? I think I can very reliably assure you that there is no such thing. Solar certainly is not it.

I like envelope homes and solar. So what? I hate auto start stop. It doesn't just go one way or the other. We should all be open minded of each others wants. ASS is a who cares. This is an open discussion.

I have no desire to try to change people's minds that are determined to be set. But modern engines, oils, and start systems it were designed to use start and stop will not harm anything mechanical.

I'm not talking about the person driving the normal car who keeps turning their key off and on every time at a light trying to hyper mileage.

15 minutes a googling will provide you more than enough actual technical engineering information on how these systems work and how the designed not to damage anything.

But if it bugs you that much, or you're absolutely convinced is going to damage your mechanics, there's a factor provided button, several tricks that will prevent it, and even hacks it will disable it.

Bronco On.

Not complying … just something I notice… auto start does not bother me
Maybe it doesn’t bother you now but how about a starter replacement at 50K. Everything has a user life.

Don't keep a car or truck with 50K on it... trade every 3 years for tax reasons... it will have less than 30K on it If I trade it...besides... the Bronco starter is covered for 60k miles or 5 years...
